On your first sentence. Who is going to be resurrected to meet the Lord in the air if there are instant resurrections that take place at the death of every saved person? Those are the Christians who are going to be ressurrected, as far as I can tell. Answer this question: How does God bring "the dead in Christ with Him if He is waiting to resurrect them
1 Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. I believe the Bible does not contradict it's self. As for getting our resurrected bodies as soon as we die. Only "Believers" do, read: Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespkmtyolpes ;
4806. suzoopoieo, sood-zo-op-oy-eh'-o; from G4862 and G2227; to reanimate conjointly with (fig.):--quicken together with. John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Christ is the resurrection!

Hi Janeto, As a consistant preterist, I believe that we Believers are immediatly clothed in our resurrection bodies and ushered into heaven upon physical death, where we shall ever be with the Lord. In Contrast, unbelievers are immediatly Judged and cast into the lake of fire. The wait is over. Phoenix, as to "today you shall be with me in paradise" I believe Jesus must have been referring to "Abrahams Bosom", the section of Hades reserved for the saints and believers in Christ before the parousia. I believe this because Jesus did not go into Heaven that day, He went to Hades. He referred it to the thief as paradise, but it wasn't "Heaven". Thoughts? None of what you said above is a biblical teaching. First ask...."Where are the dead ?" Genesis 3:19 reads "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground. For out of it you were taken. For dust you are and dust you will return.
"What's the condition of the dead ? Ecclesiasties 9:5 shows, "The living are conscious that they will die, but for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.".......... in Psalms 146:4 reads, "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground, in that day his thoughts ("plans", Revised Standard Version, "all his thinking", Douay Version) do perish" What is a Soul ? Genesis 2:7 "God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul"......... in Genesis 9:5 "Besides that, your blood of your souls (or "lives"; Hebrew from ne'phesh) shall I ask back" (Here the soul is to have blood)
What would be the meaning of the resurrection mentioned in John 5:28,29 and Acts 24:15...and of Jesus bringing persons such as Lazarus back to life if all persons go to heaven or hell at the monent of death ?
