For a youngster [ (KIDDING!!)] you have an impressive wealth of knowledge on the subject! Peace, LJ I have managed to build a little knowledge on the subject over that past few years of my life. It's important to know these on a college campus these days. Plus, I was a medical specialist (combat medic) in the Army Reserve. They teach you these things in case, God forbid, you have to treat rape victims in places without access to a full hospital.

P.S., DD, how were mid-terms? I'm sure you were brilliant! LJ One went pretty well, and another I had to miss today. I've spent most of the day at the doctor only to get some rather startling news about my health. I am 20 years old and have some out of control blood pressure issues that could could lead to stroke. I am a little scared.

Sorry, DD, that my reply was so long in coming. I have been lifting you up in prayer and asking that all can be made well.
Do keep us posted on your progress, please?
God bless, LJ

Though, BP is no respecter of persons. If your family had a history, then it's not that abnormal though. Some suggestions......Garlic........garlic......garlic......this is from the dietary specialist at the Nursing Home where my grandma lives. Also, cut down on salt......and you would be surprised at just how much salt is in food. And caffiene.....yes, I have not given up my coffee yet......but caffiene can also be a culprit. Exercise consistently. I am going to be researching Blood Pressure because I want to lower mine enough to get off the pills the doctor has me on. I'll share whatever I find. Hope you will do the same. Ronda

Wow...a lot of people putting their personal feelings and wants above those of God. Happens all the time doesn't it?

Wow...a lot of people putting their personal feelings and wants above those of God. Happens all the time doesn't it? I'm confused - personal feelings and wants over God's?? I don't understand where you're coming from on this. Forgive me if i'm making assumptions if they are incorrect. it appears to me that you are saying that by praying for someone's health and someone being concerned over your health by maintaining a more healthy diet is going against God's Will??? That just seems strange to me. God has given doctor's the smarts to know and be able to help us maintain a healthy life. Unfortunately, times have changed dramatically from His time in regards to health and food. We are told our bodies are a temple. Our human bodies are a gift from God and why would we not do whatever is within our own power to help keep them healthy for Him?

Not where I was going with that at all.
I was reading over the former pages in this thread and found...
Sometimes I'm astonished how "worldly" some "christians" can be.

no problem.
I'm not a pro at forum boards, so sometimes my messages can get confusing. I'm working on that though.

Imagine that someone using implied sarcasm concerning my faith, again. I would appreciate you not judging me since it certainly isn't your place to do so.

You know, woody, there was a time as a young Christian when I didn't think that abortion was a sin, until the Lord opened my eyes. It is as bad as the Jewish holocaust of WWII. There are many survivors of the holocaust that would be very offended by that statement. Comparing anything in this world to it is a far reach at best. While abortion may be a sin, I will not argue that point, if it is then it is equal to all other sins. We do not try to make every conceivable sin illegal, so what makes this one so special. The freedom of speech that so many Americans hold in highest regard allows for blasphemy. Are soon going to attack that right because a few consider it a sin? Conservatives often use the argument that the majority of Americans are against same sex marriage as a reason for banning it. Well, a majority of Americans are pro-choice, why the double standard? Why is it that the "right" has hijacked so many issues and turned them into electoral victories, but refuses even touch the others that come in on the same religious playing field? The truth is if those in power who claim to be pro-life really wanted to do something to ban abortion it could easily be done with the majority they hold in all branches of government. The fact is they won't do it because if they did they would lose on of the key issues they campaign on. It's the social issues that get them by, the certainly don't have an economic leg to stand on. Please wake up and see what the so called champions of your cause are really doing.

And the holocaust of the unborn has killed more people than the German holocaust of World War II.
