Well well well, looks as if that old argumentative demon some how worked his evil and got us arguing with him again about his religion.
Yes traf I am talking about you. Are you happy now?
By the way you are still wrong.
Apes and monkeys DO NOT HAVE APPENDICES.
And the human appendix still has a function, thank you very much.
And as for MY credibility pal, all you can do is cut and paste and post from ONE web site, just one. And you debate nothing, all you do is sit and pontificate the way YOU think things should be, as according to your Bible at talkorigins.com.
Now listen up pal, its time to put up or shut up. PROVE on your own with your own words and with pictures if you can mangae it, that monkeys and apes have appendices. Yes there are one or two apes that hove them, but the rest don't. So who is the one with the credibility problem traf?
By the way traf, when are you going to get around to explaining why and how, two different species can have viable offspring? Yeah, I haven't forgotten. So traf, super scientist and the man who should tell us what to believe, where are your reasonable apologetics for your faith?
Now here is your chance to prove yourself and your religion traf. If you can, explain then why, if humans monkeys and apes have the same ancestor in common, why do we have an appendix, with its functions, and your closest relatives don't.
Oh by the way, H. Enoch, who challenged the theory of vestigial organs, expressed this logical error as follows:
Apes possess an appendix, whereas their less immediate relatives, the lower apes, do not; but it appears again among the still lower mammals such as the opossum. 163 H. Enoch, Creation and Evolution, New York: 1966, p. 18-19.
How can the evolutionists account for this?
And as for the function of the human appendix, here are the facts jack, from the medical community, thank you very much.
A narrow, dead-end tube about three-to-four inches long that hangs off of the cecum. Although it's commonly referred to as the "appendix," the real name for it is "vermiform appendix."
In the past, the appendix was considered an evolutionary leftover. Now however, scientists acknowledge that the appendix helps support the immune system. It does so in two ways. First, it helps tell lymphocytes where they need to go to fight an infection. Second, it boosts the large intestine's immunity to a variety of foods and drugs; this helps prevent inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.

"Other bodily organs and tissues-the thymus, liver, spleen, appendix, bone marrow, and small collections of lymphatic tissue such as the tonsils in the throat and Peyer's patch in the small intestine-are also part of the lymphatic system. They too help the body fight infection."

The mucosa and submucosa of the appendix are dominated by lymphoid nodules, and its primary function is as an organ of the lymphatic system.

The following is a physcians opinion about the appendix, your not going to like this one traf, that is IF you really read it.
www.meridianinstitute.com/eamt/files/still2/st2ch16.htmlJust a little excerpt from above, I couldn't resist.
In the diagnosis this is a well-defined case of appendicitis; the surgeon's knife is driven through the quivering flesh in great eagerness in search of the vermiform appendix. The bowels are rolled over and around in search of the appendix. Sometimes some sub-stances are found in it; but often to the chagrin of the exploring physician, it is found to be in a perfectly healthy and natural condition, and so seldom is it found impact with seeds or any substance whatever, that as a
general rule it is a useless and dangerous experiment.
The first appendix transplant. It was a success by the way. That is traf if you can bring yourself to actually READ the article.
www.improbable.com/airchives/paperair/volume6/v6i3/appendix-2000-06.htmlHere it is acknowleged but denied in the same breath. So whats up with the internal contradictions? Looks like a potential backpeddeling opportunity to me.
encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761587441/Appendix.htmlwww.sciam.com/askexpert/biology/biology54/www.mail-archive.com/tips@fre.fsu.umd.edu/msg12738.htmlSorry link got lost, but the appendix is very important in unborn humans proper development.
During the fifth foetal week it is the appendix which develops from a bud at the junction of the small and large bowel and undergoes rapid growth into a pouch. In the sixth week there is a transient nubbin surmounting the pouch indicative of being involved in the rapid development of the pouch which is very strategically placed near the apex of the highly significant mid-gut loop. It is only after the fifth foetal month that the proximal end of this pouch, which has appeared to be a very insignificant structure up until this stage, starts growing differentially to give rise to the true caecum which continues to develop into infancy.
The embryonic appendix has finger-like projections (villi) on its inside surface and it is only around birth that the long ribbons (taeniae) causing the sacculation of the large bowel start to develop. These ribbons, of course, converge on the base of the appendix.

Thoughtful contemplation of the human body elicits awe--in equal measure with perplexity. The eye, for instance, has long been an object of wonder, with the clear, living tissue of the cornea curving just the right amount, the iris adjusting to brightness and the lens to distance, so that the optimal quantity of light focuses exactly on the surface of the retina. Admiration of such apparent perfection soon gives way, however, to consternation. Contrary to any sensible design, blood vessels and nerves traverse the inside of the retina, creating a blind spot at their point of exit.
The body is a bundle of such jarring contradictions. For each exquisite heart valve, we have a wisdom tooth. Strands of DNA direct the development of the 10 trillion cells that make up a human adult but then permit his or her steady deterioration and eventual death. Our immune system can identify and destroy a million kinds of foreign matter, yet many bacteria can still kill us. These contradictions make it appear as if the body was designed by a team of superb engineers with occasional interventions by Rube Goldberg.
This author nailed it on the head, they have come very close to figuring out what REAL Christians have known all along, we are fearfully and wonderfully MADE, but SIN caused our downfall.
And oh by the way traf, your not an honest person. You say there is all kinds of evidence to support evolution. Your lying through your teeth. There is only enough "evidence" to fit on my dinning room table. And sorry but as an amature archeologist, its gonna take more than that to prove your religion. There is far too much time to cover, and not enough real evidence to tell us anything concrete.
Now if you will exscuse me, I have better things to do with my time than waste it on the likes of you.
