Keikikoka, YiNeBheb,
I'm in agreement with you ;D, but I'd still like to hear Protestant's side of the story.
TB The Old CovenantAnimal sacrifices Earthly Priesthood Earthly sanctuary Ten Commandments Ancient Jerusalem Circumcision New CovenantSacrifice of Jesus High Priestly Ministry of Jesus Heavenly Sanctuary Ten Commandments New Jerusalem The Lord's supper and Water Baptism 2 CORINTHIANS 3:3 “clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” Here the Apostle Paul is saying that the law that was written on tablets of stone is the law that is written on the mind and heart by the Spirit. The Ten Commandments. ROMANS 2:12-16. “For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when the Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written on their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.”Only those who are doers of the law are declared righteous in Gods sight. According to verse 15 this law is the one that is written on the heart. ie, The Ten Commandments. They are not justified by the law; they are justified by faith. God will only justify by faith those people who choose to obey the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments should be viewed as ten promises made by God to all of us. If everyone on earth obeyed them what a pleasant and safe world we would live in. There would be no false religions, no athiests, no murderers, no stealing of property or of countries, no wars, no liars, no false dealings in business, no contract breakers, etc. God has promised to make these commandments the basis of our characters if we consent to accept the New Covenant. EPHESIANS 6:1-3. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honour your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise: ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.’ ” Paul tells the Ephesians to obey the fifth commandment. If this commandment is still in force then the others must be as well. Here is a Heresy i refuted some time back False claim. After Jesus' resurrection, on 7 occasions He chose to meet with His disciples on Sunday. Scriptural support of these occasions can be found in Matthew 28:8-10; Mark 16:9, 12-18; John 20:11-23, 26-29; Luke 24:13-34. Coincidence? How many would say that scripturally speaking there are coincidences. Our Lord spoke to us through the Gospels. The message is clear that he was placing a special significance on the First Day of the week as the outward sign of the New Covenant. The Mediator's Death Necessary Hebrew 9:16 "For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. 18Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood." The new covenant/Testament required the death of Jesus the covenant maker to make it legally binding. Had Jesus not have died the covenant would not be in force. Therefore his blood was needed. When HE died on Crucifixion Friday the New Covenant/Testament was in force forever. Gal 3:15 "Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it."Paul speaking of the new covenant says that after a covenant is confirmed no one can add to it or take away from it. Meaning that whatever Christ put into the New covenant had to have been put in before His death NOT after it. So we have baptism and the Lord's supper as parts of the new covenant instituted before His death. The Sunday resurrection is 2 days after the death of the covenant maker. Therefore Sunday is two days to late to be a part of the new covenant. That is the reason why it was never observed by the early church. For it to be a part of the new covenant it would have to have been instituted by Jesus prior to His death not after His resurrection.

Prove this law is something other than the royal law-ie-law of love.
I interpret the pkmtyolpage completly different than you. The idea isn't losing the penelty of not obeying the law. That still remains death, "The wages of sin is death..." The idea of this pkmtyolpage is which husband the christian is bound to, either the Law(not just the 10 comandments,) to Jesus or to both.
In the picture of biblical marriage the women(the church) must submit and obey her husband (law/Jesus) During the first "marriage", Gods people must submit to and obey the Law. When the first husband dies, you are also dead to him, for there is no marriage in heaven. We(the church) are in the second marriage. We are not bound to follow and submit to the law, because we are bound to submit to and obey Jesus. To be bound to Jesus and the Law is to be an adultress.
If the husband or wife dies then their marriage is nulled. Who dies to who is unimportant, because the obligation to eachother had ended. However, in this pkmtyolpage, It must still be the husband (the law) because the wife is married anew to Christ.
The law didn't demand the death of the transgressor. The law required the death of an animal in place of the transgressor. Certianly, in many specific sins there was a death penelty, but not for breaking the law in general.
The wages of sin is death, however this is true regardless of whether the sin is from breaking the law or any unrighteousness.
Christ death is our death, but that is unrelated to this parable. This parable is a picture of marriage, and is about who God's people are bound to. By dying to the law it has become dead to us, and we are free to marry again. We marry Christ and to try and still serve the Law would be adultry.
It clearly implies obediance for that is the obligation of the wife to the husband. The first husband is the Law and being married to it, one must be obedient to it. We have become dead to the Law, we no longer have to be obediant towards it for the marriage has been nulled through death. We are only obligated to follow Christ being married to him.
We have been set free from both the law and sin.
We have been set free from the Law. The Law is who the first husband is. There is no way to get around this. That is what the pkmtyolpage says. By becomind dead to the law we may live in Christ.
Do you realize you are being redundant. 'The first husband is transgression of the law, therefore transgression of the law is the first husband.' Anways, the first husband is the Law. This is what the pkmtyolpage says.
Hebrews 10:16 doesn't say we will be commandment keepers. It says Gods law will be on our hearts. If you want to interpret this to say we will be keepers of the Law, then go ahead. I disagree, Jesus gave us a new commandment. But the law is much more than the 10 commandments.
We are no longer obligated to the first husband, the law, and we are married to Christ.
I agree. I don't believe that the spirit of God is enabling us to obey the 10 commandments, because this isn't in the bible.

If we dont have to obey the ten commandments then why are they in the new covenant sanctuary in heaven where Jesus is the high priest? You have no answer for this.
The first husband in Rom 7 is the transgession of the law.
REVELATION 11:19 “Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.”
The Ark of the Covenant is seen in heaven in the new covenant heavenly sanctuary in the Christian era where Jesus is the High Priest. This ark contains God’s mercy seat and the Ten Commandments that are the new covenant.
REVELATION 15:5 “After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.”
The heavenly sanctuary is called the tabernacle of the testimony. The tabernacle of the Ten Commandments. The testimony is the Ten Commandments. Ex 31:18. “And when he had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.”. These verses prove that the Ten Commandments are in heaven in the temple of God where Jesus is the High Priest. Therefore the ten commandments have not been abolished but are a part of the new covenant. REVELATION 14:12. “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus”
God’s saints are those people who obey the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. The commandments of God are the Ten Commandments and the faith of Jesus is the teachings of Christ. The fact that John sees the ark of the Covenant in the New Covenant heavenly sanctuary proves that the Ten Commandments are being referred to.
ROMANS 6:14-16. “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
Notice the Apostle Paul’s parallel from the above verse. Under Law slave sin death
Under Grace slave obedience righteousness-(immortality)
To be under law is to be a slave of sin that leads to death. To be under Grace is to be a slave of obedience that leads to righteousness. Under law is the opposite of under Grace. Sin is the opposite of obedience. Death is the opposite of righteousness (immortality). Those of us who are saved by Grace must obey God, for obedience is the opposite of sin. Grace is not a licence to sin as is taught by some. Those of us who obey God are under grace while those who disobey God (sin) are under the law. If we are required to obey the Ten Commandments and do not obey them then we will be under the law and therefore under the sentence of death.

I understand where Protestant is coming from. Jesus Christ IS Israel. Everything that Israel WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, Jesus Christ IS. So, you could argue that if the Law bound Israel, it must also bound Jesus.
Before we can understand this, we must understand Israel.
God wanted Israel to be His "blessed nation." They were the first "City on a Hill" before America came into being. However, because of human nature and its persistence in disobedience, God made concessions.
First, He wanted to rule them directly; but the Israelites could not stand His voice...LITERALLY. So, God allowed judges to be selected to mediate between Himself and His nation.
Then, the Israelites wanted a king. The judge Samuel warned the Israelites about this; and very accurately I might add. However, they refused to listen; and so God gave them a king.
King Saul did not work out too well. King David had his problems, but he did a pretty good job. Then came King Solomon. What was Solomon's problem? Well, we know it was not wisdom. However, his problem was in what we say today "practicing what you preach." You see, Solomon had 300 wives, and over 700 concubines. No man, and I do not care who you are or where you come from, can effectively handle that many women. (By the way, I use the word "handle" in an effectionate and non-violent way.)
So, what is so bad about this? Well, women bring different beliefs and customs into the home. Solomon's women were from different countries, and different religions. While Solomon did not live to see it, this became a real problem for God's "blessed nation." All of a sudden, the Israelites became entranced with these new religions. We had Egyptian idols, and Baalism, just to name a few. And this is where Israel fell....
Israel began "committing adultery," and all of a sudden, God could not use them to bless the world anymore. They became like the world, disobedient and sinful. Eventually, as we read about them, they were conquered and scattered to the winds; although their "religion" survived.
Israel broke the Old Covenant, but God did not. He still honored His side. Through Israel, God would bless the nations; but in a very unexpected and unusual way.
God clothed Himself in human flesh and became Israel manifested in one person. Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% man. Even more interesting, Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% ISRAEL! Finally, God can and does rule His people directly, through the person of Jesus Christ.
So, what about the Sabbath? As Paul illustrates, the sabbath depends on a person's faith. If one man wishes to worship God on one day of the week, regardless of which day that is, then as long as he is honoring God, it should not be questioned. The same goes for eating, drinking, and any other means in which a person honors God before himself or herself.
Hope this makes sense.

i agree with what you have said except this. you are thinking about Romans 14:5-6
Have you read my thread on the mark of the beast?
Romans 14:5-6 “One person esteems one day above another, another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.” FAST DAYS. This verse is used by some to teach that the Sabbath of the Lord has been abolished. But Paul is talking about fast days not Sabbath days. The word “Sabbath” is not mentioned once in these verses. The word “fast” isn’t mentioned either but the whole context discusses the eating or the non eating of food and the days to do it. The context indicates that fast days are what Paul has in mind. The Jews used to fast twice per week. Some people in the Christian church were fasting as well. In order to separate themselves from the Jews they sought to fast on different days than the Jews. This led to a controversy about which days should be set aside for fasting. Paul responded by telling the Church at Rome that it did not matter what day a person fasts to the Lord but let each person settle it for himself in his own mind. If Paul taught that the Sabbath was abolished He would have said so at the beginning of the letter to the Romans not at the end as is the case here. When Paul taught that Circumcision was abolished it caused a pkmtyolmive controversy within the church. The fact that there was no controversy within the church regarding Sabbath observance indicates that Paul did not teach that it was abolished. To use this verse to teach the Sabbath has been abolished is to take the verse completely out of context and read into it what isn’t there.

The Old Covenant Sanctuary verses the New Covenant Sanctuary.
HEBREWS 8:1-5 “Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected and not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this one have something to offer. For if he were in earth, He would not be a priest, since their are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said ‘see that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
Christ the great High Priest is in heaven and is a minister of the heavenly sanctuary, which the Lord built, and not man. The Hebrew priests serve at a sanctuary that is a shadow and copy of the sanctuary that is in heaven. To understand the work of Christ our High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary we need to study the work of the Hebrew High Priest in the earthly sanctuary.
HEBREWS 9:24. “For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
The earthly sanctuary made with hands is a copy of the true one in heaven itself. The Ark of the Covenant containing the Ten Commandments written on stone existed in the old covenant sanctuary. There is an Ark of the Covenant containing the Ten Commandments in the new covenant sanctuary in heaven.
HEBREWS 9:1-5 “Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and an earthly sanctuary. For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the shewbread, which is called the sanctuary; and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manner, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail”.
The author of Hebrews gives a quick description of the old covenant sanctuary. Inside this sanctuary among other things is the Ark of the Covenant containing the tablets of the covenant -the ten commandments. This sanctuary is called the earthly sanctuary because it is a small man made faint representation and copy of the new covenant sanctuary that is in heaven.
In the New Covenant the Ten are in the Ark in the sanctuary in heaven.
REVELATION 11:19 “Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.”

It is only disputed by those who refuse to understand because of traditions they have come to believe as being biblical. The problem is that they are taught their traditions are equal to scripture so they are just counted as scripture. In some cases those traditions that were handed down from Rome as considered as biblical and are taught as being such. Some even believe that the papacy can over rule God and therefore he is able to change God's Divine precepts to whatever the Roman church wishes them to be and those changes are practiced by hundreds of millions of people. A good example is the Sabbath day. They also believe they must be correct because so many practice the same beliefs in certain areas. Another example is the "immortal soul". I have posted the origin of this false pagan teaching and it is still rejected. This only proves that traditions are considered as more important than what the scriptures actually teach. [/color]

AuntRonda Two unbiblical doctrines held by sothern baptists that came from the church of Rome are sunday sacredness and the immortality of the soul Guess what? Most of your beliefs also came from the Roman Catholic Church, because for over 1000 years, that was the only Christian church. It was only later that your sect seperated from the protestant movement.

All of our doctrines come from the bible alone. Not from EGW not from the church of Rome. Thats why we dont believe in sunday sacredness nor the immortality of the soul. Not the pkmtyolm nor the Roman priesthood. As for separating from the protestant movement we are the protestant movement. The ecumenical movement is the reversal of the protestant reformation. We do not belong to the ecumenical movement.

Verses about worshiping on the first day of the week, new covenant.....got to love Quick Verse!
Acts 20 7 On the first day of the week, we gathered to observe the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching; and since he was leaving the next day, he talked until midnight.
2 Cor 3
6 He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.
7 That old system of law etched in stone led to death, yet it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. 8Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory when the Holy Spirit is giving life? 9 If the old covenant, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new covenant, which makes us right with God! 10In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new covenant. 11So if the old covenant, which has been set aside, was full of glory, then the new covenant, which remains forever, has far greater glory. 12Since this new covenant gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory fading away. 14But the people’s minds were hardened, and even to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, a veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, then the veil is taken away. 17 Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom. 18 And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect£ the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.

your verses teach no such thing. You are forgetting that the ark of the covenant containing the ten commandments is in the new covenant sanctuary in heaven
What version are you using? The bible does not say that they were observing the "Lord's supper". It says they came together to "break bread" which is totally different. Strange how you chide SDA for the unacceptable Clear word and you do exactly the same thing with this paraphrase that is an interpretation not a translation.
Acts 20:7-14 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight. 8There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together. 9And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. 10But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, "Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him." 11Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. 12And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted. 13 Then we went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, there intending to take Paul on board; for so he had given orders, intending himself to go on foot. 14And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene.
First day of the week at night time. If you read the pkmtyolpage you will see that the meeting is a night meeting on the first day of the week i.e., "Saturday night" according to Jewish time reckoning. Paul preached all Saturday night and on Sunday morning he walked 20 miles to Assos to board a ship. He hardly kept Sunday sacred. The purpose of this Saturday night meeting was to farewell Paul as he was to depart on Sunday. They came to break bread meaning that they were gathering to eat dinner. It does not mean they were partaking of the Lord's supper. This verse describes a one off meeting to farewell Paul it does not describe a formula for a weekly service.
Breaking bread The expression “breaking bread” in the bible means to eat dinner.
Acts 2:46 “So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.”
It seems obvious that the meeting is not a regular Sunday church service. It is not even on a Sunday. It was just a farewell dinner for Paul as he was going the next day. This incident was recorded because it contained a miraculous incident with the raising of the Eutychus who fell from the third floor.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:7-13 In this pkmtyolpage Paul discusses the superiority of the New Covenant over the Old Covenant. The two covenants are compared with each other and described as follows:-
OLD Ministry of death Written on stone Glorious Ministry of condemnation pkmtyolping away
NEW
Ministry of the Spirit Written on the heart More glorious Ministry of Righteousness Remains
2 Corinthians 3:2-3 “You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”
That which was written on tablets of stone, the Spirit of God writes on our hearts to makes us Commandment keepers.
According to verse 3 what was written on stone under the OLD is written on the heart in the NEW. The ten commandments are written on the heart by the Spirit of God under the new covenant to enable us to become commandment keepers. The glory of the old covenant is indicated by the glory that was shining on the face of Moses. This glory was so bright that the people could not look at the face of Moses so he put a veil over his face. Both verses 7 and 13 say that the glory on Moses’ face was pkmtyolping away; signifying the pkmtyolping away of the old covenant. The ten commandments themselves were not pkmtyolping away as they are a part of the New covenant as well as of the old.

i already did but you have ignored it. the first verse i quoted 2 Cor 3:3 2 CORINTHIANS 3:3 “clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” Here the Apostle Paul is saying that the law that was written on tablets of stone is the law that is written on the mind and heart by the Spirit. The Ten Commandments. Protestant,
Please go back and read the entire chapter. You've pulled a verse out of context and claimed a meaning for it that it does't have. It wasn't about "the Law." It was about the Church at Corinth. Paul was writing to say they were like a letter of reccomendation ...1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, letters of commendation to you or from you? 2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.2 Corinthians 3:1-4 NASBTB
