Hi all brothers and sisters in Christ.
I really need your prayers and support.
I am finding myself in a bit of a mess and I am not sure what to do.
Briefly, I was married 14 years. We divorced a few years ago, but remain good friends, we still run a business together and have a seven year old daughter together. My ex wanted to reconcile, but there was some issues I wasn't feeling he was working on that was important to me.
Anyhow, I married another gentlemen last month. I thought this man was sent from God. He has treated me and my daughter like queens and I have been so happy. Now I must backtrack slightly to tell you that when I married this man, my ex was quite jealous and heartbroken. He made some threats to my new hubby so I filed a restraining order. My ex explained that he felt that my new hubby was taking advantage of me and it made him very angry.
Unfortunately, it turns out my ex was right. To make a long story short, this man in a short time has taken me for a lot of money. Luckily, I realized what was going on and today I kicked him out of our home. To just let you all know, I have to add that my new hubby is a believer, but I have found his views are quite different from Christian doctrine. My ex is a Christian and so am I. I have been raising my daughter this way too. My new hubby indicated to me before our new marriage that he would start attending my church and become a Christian, but he lied about that too.
The problem came in when I had my ex come over today to change my locks for me. I was afraid my new husband would show up while I was not home and take my things. I have many thousands worth of furniture and electronics. This man did not bring much into the marriage. I didn't mind him getting what he owned, but I was afraid he would take more and steal from me. We changed the locks and took our daughter to get something to eat.
When we came back to my house, 4 police cars were there and my husband was removing things out of the home. I couldn't understand how he got in, but discovered he went in through a window. Immediately, I began telling the officer why I locked him out. My name is the only one on the lease too. I understand we are married now, but he has only lived with me about a month and I have been renting this house for over a year by myself. When the police discovered who my ex was and that I had a previous restraining order, they arrested him. I began to protest, telling them that I had asked him to come there. They arrested him anyway.
Emotionally, I got very upset over what was happening. I was upset that the police let my husband break in and would not listen to anything I had to say. They were treating me like the bad guy. I explained this guy took me for a lot of money, but they did not want to hear it. My mouth got me in trouble. I did not do anything else but protest everthing, but the next thing you know, they threw me on the ground face first and handcuffed me. One officer was STANDING on my ear and grinding my face into the ground. The cuffs were too tight and my shoes and purse went flying to the ground. My purse and contents were all over the ground and I had to ask 4 times before they would even get it off the ground. They told me they were considering letting it lay there!
You guys, I am squeaky clean. I have never got in trouble before, not did anything wrong EVER! I have never gone against the law. I have only even got one speeding ticket in my life. I was appalled at the way I was being treated, like a criminal.
I was arrested for assult on a police officer, but they made this up. I never touched anyone. I merely kept trying to explain my position and that was all. Like I said, they had not been listening to a word I said. I could go on and on with horrible things they said to me.
What's worse, my little girl witnessed everything. My face is scratched and bruised, my clothing was ripped and I had gravel and sand all over me. When I asked politely for my shoes after they set me in the car, they said "tough, you will get new ones at jail." I begged them to let me go, that my daughter was there. They would not do it. The whole time, my husband kept packing things with a smug look on his face.
I have never been to jail before and it was horrible. Most of all, I am upset at being treated like this. I am a law abiding citizen. I am a business owner and have never overstepped my bounds in society in any way. I feel sorry for my ex too. He can't get out tonight like I did until he sees the judge, no bond. He was only trying to help me. I explained to the police that he has visitation rights and is allowed to drop off and pick up at my house. Technically, he did pick up our daughter from school and did bring her over. I explained he had right to be there for that reason and they did not care.
My husband now has a key for the new lock I just put in. He got mostly everything, but not all. I am afraid to leave my house. I am also afraid that if he shows up and I need help that the police will not help me. I have zero trust in them anymore after that. I can see if I did something wrong, but I swear that I did not.
My friend came and bailed me out tonight. When she saw my face, she couldn't believe the police did this to me.
I really need someone to talk to right now. Please pray for me also. And my daughter and my ex. My daughter was taken to family friends and I heard she is ok, but it is too early for me to call.
Please someone talk to me, I feel so bad and my head is pounding, my heart is broken and I am sad.
Lisa
