Traffic, Okay, what is your reason for sending this message to us? Christian. It's a joke, and rather anti-Bush at that.

Or possibly anti-Christ? Christian. Only if you are unable to understand satire as a literary device.

Only if you are unable to understand satire as a literary device. heathen, Satire is a literary device that is often used to insult or offend people. That is why I queried its use, especially by someone who claims to be a Christian. And I didn't realize, until now, that he had promoted you as his official spokesman. Christian.

And I didn't realize, until now, that he had promoted you as his official spokesman. Christian. Satire is a literary device. I would say in this case that it is aimed at Bush-supporters. Because TD posted it does not mean that he created it or even necessarily advocates it as a means of offense. I am sure that he probably just found it humorous and thought that others might as well. If they are "offended", then that is their issue. As for being a "spokesman", I am not aware of any rules blocking other people from commenting on these threads. I posted because I understand what the purpose of the OP was, and was answering your question. I don't doubt that TD would probably agree with me. It doesn't mean that I am his spokesman.

Glad that you have tidied up those points for me. I used to be a fan of satire, but not now. And I can't imagine Jesus Christ being a fan of it. I wonder whether TD asked Him what He thinks....... I used to be a fan of satire, but not now. And I can't imagine Jesus Christ being a fan of it. Oh, but He was! Read the parables sometime. Start with the Good Samaritan, but move on to the wicked servant in Matthew 18 and the banuquet in Luke 14. There's loads more, but I think you'll see my point LJ

I2AM4AndyChristianOmega - "Or possibly anti-Christ?"You didn't get parallels, I'm not surprised that you didn't get satire. The site is ridiculing Bush by showing how he might attempt to falsely characterized even the most righteous of opponents. "Satire is a literary device that is often used to insult or offend people."While it can have that result, the intent of satire is not to offend or insult, but to justify a position by extending it to the point of absurdity. "That is why I queried its use, especially by someone who claims to be a Christian."Care to cite chapter and verse where it is stated that such a device is in any way off-limits to Christians? Of course not, you've never had anything to back up your arguments, and things are no different here. "And I didn't realize, until now, that he had promoted you as his official spokesman."I don't need a spokesman, but when I am falsely attacked, those individuals who understand my beliefs and positions are certainly welcome to defend me in my absence, as you learned recently on the Scaring the demons away...true or false? thread. "I wonder whether TD asked Him what He thinks"I wonder why you are so convinced that God must disapprove of anything that you do not endorse. Funny that you would jump on heathen76 when you are attempting to act as God's spokesman. LauraJean - Well played. --Blood Sugar Sex Traffic Asleep at the Wheel

I often find it funny that Christians can get so aggressive over little things. Sometimes it reminds me of the movie Mars Attacks (yes, I saw it) where the Martians are running around shooting people yelling (through a language box) 'We Come in Peace"
heh

Traffic,
I know that I'm not "God's spokesman", just as I know that you don't understand the Bible. Heathen has from time to time made comments about me to others, while at the same time not getting involved in what was being discussed. And I have sometimes wondered whether he speaks on your behalf.
Interesting that you won't give your obsession with evolution a rest. Oh well, boys will be boys, and from now on this boy refuses to play your game. Catch! ;D
God Bless, Christian. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
P.S: 7's my favourite number, what's yours?

Sounds a bit like the "alien" invasion of Iraq to me. Why on earth are we there? Christian.

Hmm. Sounds a bit like the "alien" invasion of Iraq to me. Why on earth are we there? Christian. couple asnwers on behalf of many sailors at Naval Station Mayport & Jax... 1) to extend freedom to the Iraqui people 2) to aid in bringing a better way of like (see recent Navy League Mag. about the new water treatment plants, schools, etc) there are other various comments that they have made when i've asked however the main one - from sailors and marines alike -- to keep the battle there and not let it come here.

I2AM4AndyChristianOmega - "I know that you don't understand the Bible."
There is a world of difference between claiming that I don't and actually showing that I don't. You have succeeded only in the former.
