Cohdra, Perhaps we should define "nasty" or maybe I am just comparing to others. To me it just sounded like you were telling Nic to examine his agenda and the reasons for his contesting our faith. I did not see nastiness. Nastiness to me is calling peoople ignorant, telling them they are condemned for not belieiving the way that you do. You gave your beliefs and stood by them. Not nasty to me. Blessings, Ann Thank You It's nice to get some positive feedback God bless

Cohdra, I KNEW I'd forget some people if I listed names! I include Pietro AND you ... and my dear brother Metanoia, who I don't see nearly often enough. And we do have MANY friends on this board as well -- and I know I'd get in WAY big trouble if I tried to list names here, but on of my favorite sisters has already weighed in on this thread. I just wanted you all to know you ARE appreciated.

You know, the threads keep coming..and coming..and coming.. Its sad really. I thought we were all brothers and sisters.. I see another one starting..but this time its CoC under the magnifying gpkmtyoll. Who's next? Lutheran? Baptist? Pentecostal? Bottom line..what is most important? What is the greatest command from Christ? And..is it being followed? I've seen these threads since the first time I logged onto a message board..the first Left Behind. It left me dumbfounded then..and it still does..that after so long..there is nothing else to talk about but who is wrong in their theology.. How much better would it be to simply teach what you know..what you believe God has revealed to you..rather than tear down what another has been shown? Perhaps we could then each be an instrument of Him..and teach what He would have..not by negative..but by positive.

Quit whinin'. If somebody pokin' at your views hurts you, don't go nosin' in a debate hall where you're likely to get poked. The Lord got poked a might harder than any of you and he told us if we followed him, we'd get poked real hard for his sake too. Scott Scott, The problem is that the Lord never told the Apostles that they should "poke" one another, but instead he told them to love one another. Believe me we can take the "poking" from those who are not Chistian, it's the "poking" from other Christians that is very unfortunate.

Ty Citizen But you were right to leave me out; I just don't fall into the patient, calm category (Only when I'm sick).....I think you made a great thread here; The RC's need this now and then, since it's one of the minority voices on the board. I understand what you did, and I think it's great. This thread in no way is meant to hurt the feelings of non-Catholics, it's simply meant to uplift the Catholics that post/read these boards. Great job Citizen God bless

For anyone that's angry about this thread; let's look at this logically. Many non-Catholics on this MB have accused RC's of not being Christian, even calling RC a cult, diabolical, etc thus dividing us from the rest of Christiandom; refusing to be grouped with us, and denying our faith. Now, Citizen makes a thread that congratulates the divided out Catholics, and your upset that it doesn't include you. Where is the sense here? That is not logical. You push us away, and then get angry if you aren't included.
I have praised the non-denominational Christians on this board, and thanked them for teaching me to use my Bible better. So, If anyone starts a "TY" thread for anyone else, I'll gladly put my two cents in. Please, let's not twist Citizens kind intentions into something it isn't Thnx for listening everyone
God bless

Scott, The problem is that the Lord never told the Apostles that they should "poke" one another, but instead he told them to love one another. Believe me we can take the "poking" from those who are not Chistian, it's the "poking" from other Christians that is very unfortunate. "But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed" (Gal. 2:11) Peter was rebuked by Paul for false teaching and leading brethren into error. Did Peter hold a grudge against his brother for telling him the truth? "And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction" (II Pet. 3:15-16) Nowhere does the Lord tell us to "love" error. But if a person obviously loves his error, we that are the servants of the Lord are told not to strive - but to let them go on to their own destruction. I don't plan to stir up your little Catholic nest any longer.

I'm the one who is sad ... I honestly just wanted to encourage and uplift people who have shown their love for Christ through their fruits, who have encouraged ME. It was not intended to cause anyone else ill feelings. Why is it ok to single Catholics out to be challenged, but not encouraged?

I'm the one who is sad ... I honestly just wanted to encourage and uplift people who have shown their love for Christ through their fruits, who have encouraged ME. \ Amen! Great! Nothing! But when I saw this thread, I thought, uhmm..."To My Catholic Brothers & Sisters" ...and friends... Just curious, only Catholics are your brothers and sisters and we Protestants are only "friends"? This kinda "smacks" me in the face! I don't agree with all the Catholic doctrine espoused on this board , and I know my Catholic brothers and sisters say visa-versa - but many of you have known me for a long long time, and Citizen, I call you a sister, and you call me only a "friend"? I am not trying to be "nick-picky", but reverse what you just used in the thread subject and understand how your Catholic "brothers and sisters" would feel if the same subject title were used?? <><

You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, Jan ... I'm so sorry!!! You ARE my sister in every way. I'll see if I'm able to edit the title. I sure didn't mean it that way! I do have to say, though -- I've been told in VERY blunt language that I'm NOT a sister to some; so I am a little careful about presuming so.
