In the four years I've been on the messageboards, I've watched some of my Catholic brothers & sisters patiently answer the same questions, distortions, and outright lies over and over and over again.
It's amazing to me, sometimes. More often than not, the people asking the questions have no real interest in the answers. The way satan uses them has taken a huge toll on me ... that's a big reason why I don't post here much any more.
I am SO PROUD of the patience and consistent kindess you continue to display. It makes me think of how you LIVE these verses -- they aren't just words, they are the way you ARE ... and that's TRULY what "believing the Bible" is all about.
1 Peter 3
8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compkmtyolpionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 11 He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." 13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." 15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
RealistState, Marysia, HomeAtLast ... thank you for the beautiful witness you bear to Christ our King. You are excellent representatives of ALL Christians -- not just Catholics.
**edited by Citizen to amend the title. I love ALL of my Christian brothers and sisters! **

1 Thessalonians 5:10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Great "building-up" post, Lori!

As an ex-Catholic that was saved out of the darkness of that mess, I believe that I have a perfect right to voice my opinions on this group - just as you all have a right to avoid my discussions. But obviously - none of you are really interested in anyone questioning your "faith."
I could attempt to post studies that teach the Bible pkmtyolpages - but then I need to contend with the cultists that flock in and disrupt them.
So I am left here holding a beautiful promise of salvation to "whosoever will," but pretty much unable to deliver it.
If I try to dissect a religious system - the proponents of that system - but not the Bible - will accuse me of "distortions, and outright lies" and if I try to build up others faith in our most holy faith AS PRESENTED by the infallible Word of God, I am accused of "distortions, and outright lies" by those that just don't want to hear it.
I do notice that there is a Bible Study section on this board. Perhaps I check it out. Maybe I will finally it out that me and my kind just aren't welcome anywhere.

Nic, Of course you are welcome on these threads. Just because you can not convert us or convince us to leave what describe as a dark mess, does not mean you are not. We see more clearly with the light that Jesus shines on our faith. I have only seen RCC people answer questions and address misconceptions that are spread as they have been for so many more years than any of us have lived. The people that hurl insults and derogatory remarks just show their ignorance of the subject. I have not see that you have insulted anyone. Blessings, Ann

As an ex-Catholic that was saved out of the darkness of that mess, I believe that I have a perfect right to voice my opinions on this group - just as you all have a right to avoid my discussions. I think it's your underlying assumption that people find frustrating. Because you think you were lost while you attended the Catholic church you assume all Catholics are lost. I think our brothers and sisters in Christ here who happen to be Catholic have proven (repeatedly) that their savior is Jesus. Just because you couldn't find Him in the Catholic church doesn't mean He can't be found in the Catholic church. Do you really mean to question a person's faith? Or are you questioning their practices? If it's the former, I think the Bible is quite clear on the topic. MT 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Excellent post, Citizen. They do deserve congratulations...they have indeed, been put through the fire on these boards. Let's not forget Pietro; He has also done wonderful, calm, patient work here...I'm sure there are others as well that could be added. I only wish i had their patience, and love
God bless

No one has been "put through the fire" on this board. Be serious. Anyone here is free to sign off anytime they choose. They're free to voice their opinion from the safety of the obscurity their identity. Nobody's life is at risk. Nobody's property or personal freedom is at risk.
Everyone at this forum is here by choice. No one here is suffering religious persecusion. Your rights are not being violated. You aren't being "put" anywhere. If you think you're suffering because somebody here doesn't agree with your take on God, you ought to go to the Middle East where little kids die every day because of differences over such things. Or maybe go to Ireland where 5 year olds are taught to hate each other over if they should call Mary mother or not.
Quit whinin'. If somebody pokin' at your views hurts you, don't go nosin' in a debate hall where you're likely to get poked. The Lord got poked a might harder than any of you and he told us if we followed him, we'd get poked real hard for his sake too.

HomeAtLast: I think he meant mine lol
But I do stand by it. The are several members that have joined these boards with their main intent being Catholic bashing. When this board started out, most of the threads were aimed at individual doctrinal disputes; most of those threads deteriorated into Catholic bashing. It seems when they run out of ammo, they start the attacks.
God bless

Check out Nicodemus' thread "Why Do Catholics pray To Mary"? Then you can see my ugly side I just posted on it about 20 minutes ago Edit: I gave the wrong thread...I was nice on the other one God bless Cohdra, Perhaps we should define "nasty" or maybe I am just comparing to others. To me it just sounded like you were telling Nic to examine his agenda and the reasons for his contesting our faith. I did not see nastiness. Nastiness to me is calling peoople ignorant, telling them they are condemned for not belieiving the way that you do. You gave your beliefs and stood by them. Not nasty to me. Blessings, Ann
