And call her an advocate - when Jesus tells us to pray to our Father?
And when did Mary become an advocate?

And call her an advocate - when Jesus tells us to pray to our Father? And when did Mary become an advocate? It was when some pope long ago decided it sounded good. A better guess would be when the pagans were allowed to bring their statues into the church building and the names of the pagan gods were changed to the names of the apostles and called saints. The godess "Isis" was changed to "Mary" and so on. Then they gave her rank in heaven, decided she was a perpetual virgin and so on, none of which is biblical. [/color]

nic -- as mentioned before - there are many threads that have hashed this out. you keep trying and egging on people about the same issues. you know our answers as they have been printed out on the rosary, IMmaculate COnception & varity of other threads. if you still can not comprehend - go to the vatican website and read for your self as none of our answers seem to fill your void.
i'm sorry but i find starting another thread to verbally bash the Rcc rather inmature.

Wow. I was just saying to myself today, "I really don't think there are enough threads on this board set up to attack Catholics, somebody should really get a new one started," but then I log on and see this Congrats, Nic. --BDT

If you have a specific link to where this question is answered, you could probably offer than rather than just tell me to stop asking questions. What does it mean that Mary is an advocate? I only find that Jesus Christ is an advocate with the Father. Is Mary an advocate with the Son? Someone suggested this on another thread - and that was shot down. So what gives?

It figures. You all want to give me canned Vatican responses rather than defend your own beliefs. All the while you are accepting someone else's faith while not even developing your own. What will you do when the Vatican tells you that Christ has returned?

Marysia told me that this question had already been discussed on THIS message board.
That lengthy article on Mary does not point me to the answer to this question.
For instance,
What is the meaning of this prayer?
"HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!"
Catholics contend that Mary is the mother of us all, because Jesus gave her to John from the Cross - so when did He make her a queen?
And this calls her "most gracious advocate."
Advocate of what?

LauraJean - "You know, Traf, I was just thinking the same thing except about evolution threads. Shouldn't there be a couple more of those too?"Actually, the Interpretation of Genesis - Why? thread is only the second such thread that I've started on this board. I usually don't start them, I just finish them. --El Traf

It honestly is not and I had hoped you didn't take it that way. I was looking over the other thread where you were going back and forth and was truly impressed. Lisa
