The Nicene creed was written shortly after the Gnostics were banished, and after Chrsitianity was recognized by the Roamn Empire. What did they know that the later church failed to acknowledge? Why did they write about Christ ,"... created by his Father before ALL WORLDS...."! This has a lot of implications, since the Gnostics who had recently been banned claimed millions of planets with human type life on them, all subject to the Christ. They didn't know anything then that they didn't make up, and that is all they know now. Paul warned about their false teachings and you should beware that you don't get sucked in. People that don't open their doors so people can challange their beliefs have too much fear and are too controlling. Sounds like a cult to me. YSIC Pam

kingsdaughter: these people were fighting for control of the church in 100 AD and lost out, they were banned by 200 AD, but I thought they were a dead sect, now find that they are alive and well, they had hidden as an underground within the framework of the RCC itself. They have developed their own dogma, etc., and even pusblished books, some of which although published 100 years ago, are in agreement with science that was just discovered last year == hardly just a cult. This is the oldest know major group to have disagreed with the RCC and long thought vanquished. Yours in the Ever Living Christ; Larry

From the reports that have come out about them they sound suspeciously like the transendentilists that have posted here. Still Pauls word is good enough for me and hate fueled curiosity is no reason to check out anything IMHO. Pam

Pam I think God had a hand in keeping them from taking over thechurch because He knew what they were about and I believe he reveiled this to Paul. Anyway it sounds to me that the main reason you are interested in them is because they are against the Catholic church and hate fueled curiosity in never a reason to like something imho. Pam

kingsdaughter: no Pam, I had been under the impression they were wiped out, and now find they were hidden amoung the RCC church itself. I am not saying anything about who is right/wrong; but they have a lot of god answers to questions that are raised by non-Christians as to troublesome Christian doctrines, and are seeminly, scientifically sound. They seem now to begin feeling free enough to emerge from there underground, and I wonder if they know something or not. I am withdholding judgement untill I find out more.
