So I've picked up Cannery Row again, and a bunch of my friends have reacted with minor disgust. Yeah, the guy is responsible for Grapes of Wrath, but the rest of what I've read of his has been pretty good. Just wondering what everyone else thinks of his work, hopefully I'm not alone in liking it.

I would have preferred the accidental amputation of my thumbs.

I would have preferred the accidental amputation of my thumbs. So.... is that a "no"?

Steinbeck seem a little bit too pretentious. I like William Golding's work more.
