"Christos" and "kurios" some translations have "Messiah and Lord" since Christos is the Greek for Masiah. Among certain groups in 1st century palistine the title referred to an expected leader from David's line to restore Israel. Here the Gospel speaks of a savior for all people.
or in Luke 2:26
the "Messiah of the Lord" "in the sight of all people" a light of revelation to the Gentiles. At least in Luke's Gospel the Messiah's most significant mission is for the no jews.

Can anyone explain why Luke tells of Joseph and Mary going back to Nazareth immediately after the presentation of Jesus but Matthew says they went to Eqypt.
