Hey Everyone,
We hope you all have noticed the new stuff. In case you haven't here's a list:
Change in staff. We no longer have a separation in staff. No more Moderators and Global Moderators, just our Volunteer Staff. Volunteer Staff members are just that, volunteers. They take time out of their busy lives to help clean up a bit around here, such as spam, swearing, and fighting. Their powers extend to all areas of the board and we hope you will treat them and their decisions with respect. Their usernames are:
AuntRonda, Benjohnson, Heavensdaughter, LisaLovesJesus, babysis, donkeydude, keikikoka, and mook2357
We have updated our swear filter. It will no longer replace bad words and their variants with a less offensive version, but will replace them with ***. This way the exact swear word is not known and no one will be offended. We will be updating the list as new swear words and variations of swear words come up. So please try not to swear. Staff members are instructed to edit out swearing and to report that post to Snotty.
TEXT We know, you've all be frustrated with this problem. You've just finished typing up the perfect post when you want to bold the entire post and you click the bold button and your entire post becomes TEXT. Well, you know longer have to worry about that. We've fixed that problem and now you can select what text and hit a modifier button and the UBBC tags will be placed around the selected area.
;D Report-a-post feature. You can now report offensive posts to the staff. On the left the post you find offensive there's a link that says "Report This Post". When you click on it, a window will pop up. Type in a reason why you think it's offensive and the click Submit. Our Volunteer Staff will be notified and will take care of the problem as soon as possible.
Do you find some people are just too offensive for your tastes? Well, we've now installed an Ignore Member function. If you want to ignore a member, just go to one of their posts and look on the left hand side of the page, under their name. There's a link that says "Ignore This Member". Just click on that link and you will never have to view one of that member's posts again. If you want to stop ignoring a member, then click on the link that's in place of that member's post. Or, to clear your entire block list, go to the page where you view your profile (to get there, click on the icon at the top of the page) and your block list will be listed and a link that will clear your block list. However, staff member's post can never be blocked, even if you add them to your block list. Note:this function uses cookies(a small text file that websites can store on your computer) in order to store your blocklist. Therefore, your blocklist will only work on your computer. It will also disappear if you delete your cookies. Sorry, but this was the only way we could do this.
For all of you bad guys out there, we've now made it so that if a staff members edits your post for any reason, you will no longer be able to edit that post again. This is to help protect everyone.
In the not too distant future, look for Bible Study Group sign ups. There will most likely be 2 or 3 nights available a week for a small group Bible Study. Each group will most likely have their own forum where they can have an online Bible Study.
We no longer have a chat room or Instant Messenger program. They never really worked all that well anyways, but we are looking for a suitable replacement.
If any of you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. And the whole staff here is hoping you are having a great time using these messageboards. Thank you.
Sincerely,
[glow=green,3,300]Snotty ;D[/glow] and the Volunteer Staff
