I just made a post on the other election thread in regards to this matter. What a crime!!!
I remember a story from the last election; it happened in Florida. Some Haitians were trying to vote, and democratic voting "helpers" were crowding into the booths with them and punching Gores name. The whole thing is disgusting. It angered me that the repulicans didn't stand up for the Haitians, but it also tells me they may have had voting fraud to hide as well. it's terrible. Despite it all, I will go and vote. I think honest Americans, liberal and conservative, need to get together and address this issue. It doesn't look like our government is going to do anything about it
God bless

well cohdra since you mention Florida - here's the latest and greatest information from the northern part of the state - it's sad on both ends. www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/101504/met_16920215.shtmlI have to admit - if the forms do not have an ID i don't have a problem with them being held back. however, they should have been scanned for the bascis prior to them leaving the office. our other big issue here is that the early voting is taking place only at the supervisor of elections office. a local congresswoman is saying it's unconstitutional and they have to open more and (of course) if filing a lawsuit (more frivolatry). I don't think she understands that unless there is a state of emergerency (say the hurricanes hitting within these next three weeks instead of last month & prior) there is a 45 day advance set up of those satelite offices she would like. i think it's very sad that "election day" is no longer seen as a special day. i remember going with my mom (we'd walk the mile as we'd only one car and dad had that for work). standing and waiting and then going in the booth and closing the curtian with her -- ooh it was something special. all events of the day were put on hold to make sure we went to vote. I start my day in line by 6:45am and then head to work. this way I can be on time for my (technically) 8:3a start time. anyway, sorry for the rambling!

The whole thing is terrible I personally feel if you are not able to fill out the registration form properly, you shouldn't be voting in the first place. I do think we need some standards; and it does help keep most of the registrations authentic. I don't think it's it's a good idea to have these last minute registration pushes. I would hope most folks would spend more time analyzing the issues. The problem is definitely on both sides, and something drastic needs to be done about it God bless

I also believe that the primary and main election day should be special. I think that on a Primary day, everyone should get a 1/2 day off work, and they should give everyone the whole day off on Election day. They should be mandatory holidays. More folks would vote!!!!!
God bless

heard about more fraud and people demanding that they be able to vote anywhere in their county - instead of at the precinct. i can't understand that - can you imagine the possibility for fraud and the expense it would be on all of us as tax payers? i know when i go to my spot they have a list with everyone in our precinct. i present my ID, sign and obtain my ballot. if i went outside my area i can not see how i wouldn't be able to vote twice or even thrice. how lazy have we become and selfish that we can't take a few moments away from sleeping in the morning or "TV" time in the evening?! also heard that in the DNC manual it told them to be aware and to raise public knowledge. To publically be preemptive of problems and people have - even where they are none.
what are we doing to ourselves??
