The next time you hear John Kerry tout his Vietnam experience, ask yourself this question:
How many Vietnam veterans (or veterans of any war for that matter) do you know who openly and frequently discuss their experiences in war?
The war vets I know (and in my family and circle of friends there are quite a lot) will, sometimes, talk about the people they were with, but they NEVER discuss what they did there. Why do you suppose Kerry brings it up every chance he gets?
Blessings, LJ

My friends father would openly discuss a number of things about the war. Not the gorey and bloody stuff, but more like a little geography, troop movements, the brotherhood between soliders, etc...
That said, I would agree that Kerry does wear his heart(s) on his sleeve, kind of in a similar light to the way W touts his Christianity.

i don't understand the whole thing -- I went to war and fought - i cam home from the war (after a 4 month tour!) and protested loudly against the war - throwing my medals where they belonged - in the trash. NOW i tout that i was a war hero and served proudly?! I've heard people complaining about the swift boat nets who are against it - some are saying - why does it matter?! where were these people when they were dredging up W's service history.
i don't recall W ever wearing his faith on his sleeve, i've heard him comment and use Christian comments in pkmtyolping, but they're natural, not scripted. unfortunately, i've not heard anything kerry has said that has made sense. his tax record in pkmtyolm is nothing like what he says he's going to do in the future, then there's the war issue -- well i think it's right we went, i voted to go, sadam has weapons of pkmtyolm destruction & is a threat but i'm not i'm not going to fund the troops & i'm going to do everything against what i already said.
