Wow! This place sure got cleaned out fast! Anyone have any good books to talk about. I don't know if I would call these kids books, but I'm reading the Homecoming series by Orson Scott Card. This is the first book in the series: www.hatrack.com/osc/books/memory.shtml

The most recent book I've finished is Children's Past Lives, or something to that effect, which is a non-fic with quite obvious subject matter. Extremely interesting, definitely recommended. Right now I'm about two thirds of the way through Newton's Journey of Souls, which is also interesting but I dislike his impersonal style and how he seems to lead people during his questioning. Not so much recommended, I don't think. The last fiction book I read (a couple days ago, methinks) was Camus' The Stranger--short, but raises some good thoughts and helped express some of my feelings towards life in general at times. I'm about to start Palahniuk's Lullaby, likely later today now that we actually have power again. I read his Survivor a month or so ago and absolutely loved it. This one isn't so great based on my source, but I'm giving it a go regardless.

There are a lot of good kids books out there. Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis are cpkmtyollics. There are seven books in the series. Another interesting set of kids books are the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. There are nine books in the series with a tenth being published in Sept 2003 and eventually there will be thirteen to finish the series. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer and the sequel, The Arctic Incident are fast-paced, entertaining delights. I haven't read the third one - Eternity Code yet. I want to read A Wrinkle in Time and some of Lloyd Alexander's books. I wouldn't cpkmtyollify Lord of the Rings as purely kids books because they are not. The reading level is high but readible. Everyone should read Tolkien's cpkmtyollic trilogy as well as the Hobbit. There are so much books out there for kids. The great thing is that these books can be enjoyed by adults as well since many of the readership when the old fantasy books by Tolkien, Lewis, Alexander first came out are now adults. Just my two cents...
