I wanted to give you an update on Donna. She is in Critical care still, we are going on our sixth week in the hospital (5 in CC). She has been really sick for a few days. They called in an Infectious disease Doc and he found a pkmtyolm of infection in her left lung. Donna has been on iv antibiotics for about three weeks, this doc added another on saturday, and had hoped that it would knock the infection. She has been running a low grade fever for a while, it comes and goes. Tomorrow they are going to run another CT scan and see if the infection has started to subside. If it has not then they will do one of three things, try to drain the infection, operate and try to scrape the infection from her lung, or remove part or all of that lung. What they will have to do will be determined by the Ct and what they see if they have to go in.
We are all tired and we are sick of St Thomas hospital, but mostly I think we are tired of the roller coaster. Seems Donna is up one day and down the next. I know she is tired of fighting and sometimes it seems she might be giving up.
Please do not forget us all, especially Donna in your prayers.
