I need prayer.
I hate my job, and have since I've started it a year ago... but I feel like I'm at my wits end now. I feel like I don't know how much longer I can take it. HELP!!

I know what a terrible feeling this is. (been there....) I will pray that God provide you a way out and that until He does that he give you the strength to endure.
Take heart... You may be a witness for Him where you are without even knowing it!
Peace, LJ

2 years ago 7/1/01 I lost my job as a support technician for a telecommunications company. We ALL did, they closed our NY office. In Nov. 2001 I took a job at P.C. Richard & Son to pay the bills. It is a retail store, and I was a commision only salesman. I worked 55 hours/week, and made less than 1/2 of what I had been formerly making. Then around the Holidays, I was working 70 hour weeks, and I worked 20 days straight, no day off... not even a Sabbath day.. which I had a huge fight in the middle of the showroom floor w/the manager over.
In July of 2002 I was able to quit that job & take this one. The pay is only $12 more per week, but at least I work a 40 hr week now & have time to spend with my wife. God HAS been providing... just not in the ways I want him too...
For example, my mother has been paying our rent for the past 18 months. It's very humbling & discouraging. I know the Lord has me here for a reason, and I KNOW I have grown as a christian through all of this.
It's just a bad combo. I can hate my job. I can be severly under-paid. But to be BOTH severly underpaid AND hate your job... it's tough OK, I will get off my pity-potty now
There are SOME benefits to working here... I can cruise the 'net while working, and I've met all of you fine folks... some of whom I've become very close to
Thanks for your prayers!

Well I'm praying for both of you! I go so sick of my job that I quit 2 weeks ago, started my new job last week, I hate it even more Only good think about this one is I will at least make a whopping $10.00 an hour in a month, a whole dollar more then I was making and I will be getting more hours at this new one. Can anyone live on $10.00 an hour anymore? Keep me in your prayers too, the state of Mi. just emptied me and my daughters bank accounts because of the back taxes my ex. owes, they did this yesterday and because of the sale of the house the receiver was going in today to pay off the back taxes, one day, if the state would have waited just one more day. Talked to my ex today and he told me they didn't touch his bank account, I am so mad I could spit nails Guess we all need prayers!

Wow, I feel really sad for you two, Bill and Agape. It sure does make life challenging when you don't like your jobs to the point you are miserable considering you spend so much TIME there. I will pray for you two for something better to come along. It may come in the form of a connection....I believe sometimes God places people in our life for a reason....maybe that connection person is going to be arriving shortly. Let's only pray! God Bless both of you am I AM sorry to hear this, Lisa

Well, thanks for all your prayers everybody. You know it's truly bad.... when your ENTIRE department is looking for another job! Every single one of us! One person just quit, even without a job... which was dumb, but hey..
Have you read my other thread 'youth ministry'? I wonder if God is going to eventually call me to be a Youth Pastor!? I'm not sure how I feel about that... I NEVER pictured myself in THAT role before! It's kinda scary, but I'm open & willing to walk wherever God leads me!

Give it to God Bill and let him work miracles in your life. I know that is hard sometimes, but just say you know what i am not going to worry about it. Opent hat paper everyday after praying and let God guide you to where you need to apply and then when God is ready, he will show you where he wants you to be. Maybe Youth ministry is where he will lead you. I know that finances get you feeling like you need to go about things this way or that way, but always remember God will take care of you, no matter what you decide. So leave your financially situation out of whatever you pursue, that is God's area ;D. He is better at it than us anyway. Keep your head up Bill, all will work out.

I will certainly keep you in my prayers! Would it do any good to talk to your boss? Maybe you can ask for a raise. With all your computer knowledge you might try looking for a company that would appreciate your help.
Good luck and God bless!

Im in telecommunications too....(haha remember bill?). ;)I'd offer you a job but...umm....well not sure how much longer I will have mine. My company is finally shutting down the last 3 stores still in existance in the south. They tell me they arent reducing headcount but I honestly think its just a matter of time. Darn cell phones!! HAHA. OH well.....I guess I couldnt be the "Beeper girl" forever. Hubby has been out of work for a couple of months as well....wants to start ANOTHER business venture I should really be worried but honestly Im not (at least not yet.....not until they kick us out of our house LOL) I know God has a plan. I'll keep you in my prayers Bill....always know "IT COULD BE WORSE". There is a reason for what you are going thru now. Hey have you read "The purpose Driven Life yet". I will be starting the discussion group at the other site tomorrow. I have read the first few chapters and I think it is a "must read" for everyone. If you havent read it yet Bill....it may help.
