I would ask your prayers for the family of one of our regular delivery people at the store where I work. His name is Larry.
Larry's son is recently divorced, and has joint custody of the two children, a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl. I don't know all the circumstances, but when the father has them, they usually live with Larry and his wife, so they're a very big part of their grandparents' lives.
A couple weeks ago, the children and their father were out walking along a road by the bottom of a hill. At the top of the hill one car attempted to pkmtyolp another (illegal), and plowed into them. Larry's son and the little girl were killed instantly.
Now, that's not even the worst of it. The driver who hit them was unliscenced, so drunk she didn't know where she was, and 16 years old. She hit them so hard that the front of her car was dented, so she stopped momentarily. As she was stopped this little 10-year-old boy ran over to her hysterically and started beating on her windows screaming that his dad and little sister were hurt and they needed help, and someone to call 911. The girl looked this terrified child right in the eye and sped off while he was still beating on her windows.
Then she went to a friend's house and told them, "I probably should call the cops; I just witnessed a hit and run."
The lady that she was attempting to pkmtyolp stopped and helped the little boy away from the scene, got him to his grandparents' house, tried to comfort him, called for help, and gave her statement to the police. According to her and the little boy, the girl never slammed on her brakes, swerved, or anything else when she noticed there were three people in the path of her car - she just ran right into them.
Please keep them in your prayers, (Larry and his wife, the children's mother, and I think most especially this little boy who had to see his dad and sister die, but then to have their killer drive away when he was screaming for help), and also this 16-year-old girl. How anyone could do this is beyond my comprehension, but for a young girl to be this hardened? Makes no sense to me.
