We have this person who had retained my boss at the other firm to look into a potential environmental injury case on behalf of his wife - this was about a year and a half ago. They are both elderly and very sweet and my boss and I took to them from the first phone call. In the beginning it looked like there could have been something, but after our investigation, we could not find a case. Since then his wife got cancer, and heart problems, and pkmtyolped away during surgery. The poor husband is so distraught that he is trying to find any way possible to go after anyone. We've investigated every way possible to find a case and there just isn't any case. Meanwhile, we know he isn't taking care of himself and we've placed calls to his family with our concern. He lives by himself. He's been calling here at the office daily, and my boss' cell phone at all hours. I feel so bad for him, but there isn't anything we can do. Just last week, my boss met him to look at another "lead" and based on his behavior at that meeting, we think he is getting dementia. I was out sick yesterday and he called and gave one of the secretaries an earful, when I talked to him the day before that and told him that my boss is out until next week. I'm so glad I work with compkmtyolpionate people - she wouldn't take my apologies and said it felt like he just needed someone to talk to and she was happy to help in that regard.
I don't think I've ever asked for prayer directly for a client before - but this one has touched all of us somehow. Please pray for him to find some sort of peace in his heart.
