It's going on about 8 months now that my mother had a near stroke. she is on meds to prevent one, but she seems to be unable to accept the way my dad is and constantly wants to change him. She is stressing out a lot, so much that she is not feeling well. She is also diabetic and High Blood Pressure. I know she is also going through menopause so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. My brothers came about 1.5 hours ago to get her since she did not want to go to the hospital. They want to be able to keep an eye on her to make sure she will be alright. I also found out that her older brother is also in the hospital, from what she said it's life or death. So she has quite(edited today 7-20-2003, misspelled) a lot to deal with. She is not in control of her feelings and is making herself sick. Please pray for her.

Mom is home right now. Now has my younger brother staying with her. So she has to deal with his immaturity and my sister's moods. He hasn't decided yet on whether he wants to stay married or not. He has no job, he might go to jail. He had been staying with older brother, but when my mom felt sick and they took her over there, she saw how he acted and feared that he eventually would cause problems in their marriage. so she decided to come home, and said taht as their mother, she should be the one putting up with my borther. My brother, father and sister are difficult people to deal with and she has all 3 under one roof. I feel as if my brother would like to see parents divorce(and be able to blame me or my sister for it) so that community prop. could be split and my mother would maybe use her share to buy a house that would eventually be his. I don't feel as if he really has her best interest at heart. She looks better, but has quite aways to go.

Mom is home right now. She looks better, but has quite aways to go. I know you have a lot going on in your life but stay strong. Sometimes the devil just wants to keep us all tied up in knots (the cares of this world) so that we can not focus on our God.
It is easier for me to say this looking back. I am 54 and went through all of those things years ago. I do have such empathy for you. I didn't know God when all these things happened to me, so I did not have any strength to lean on but my own. Other things have happened since - and God has brought me through!
You have God to lean on and his love, grace, mercy and power to get you through all of this. we all love you and pray for you - there are many good people on these boards that ruly love God and give of themselves in true prayer. Trust and believe. God has a plan for you:
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Sweetie.. I know that you are so very concerned about your mom, we all are...and I have to say, I don't doubt that a good portion of those of us here have probably gone through something similar with our own mothers. It is so hard for a child to see their parents get older, we want to help them to be the parents that they used to be when we were younger, always there for us, caring for us...but then the tables turn and we have to be there for them. The wonderful thing is, though, we have Christ to strengthen us and in return strengthen them through fervent prayers. That doesn't mean that we are going to have an easy time, and sometimes it's going to be extremely tough to keep your eyes on our Savior, but He will always be there for you, helping you through and guiding your steps if you let Him. Stay strong, little Sister...we are praying for you and your mom and the rest of your family....keep your eyes on Jesus and He won't fail you, keep them there even when the temptation to do things on your own is great....Jesus will be there, always.

Just an update....
My mother is 50 yrs. old. I also just found out a couple od days that her older brother is in the hospital. It looks like he is rally not doing well. H e is probably aobut 53-55 yrs. old. She went to see him Satu. and his wife came out and refused to talk to my mother. So My mother just looked from where she was standing to see her brother. I dson't know if he is unconsious, if he can hear. But my mother did not want to start any trouble she just wanted to see him. My aunt is only hurting herself is what my moms says. It possible that the day my mom got really sick was maybe the day that she found out about her brother. I wasn't even aware that he was back in the states. The last that I knew he was in Mexcio. It was shocking tome to find out he was in the hospital since he has always been healthier than my mother and her other brother. So please continue to pray for her since she loves all her brothers and sisters the same all of the time, even if they are mean and rude to her.

I will pray for you mothers physical and mental health as well as the rest of your family. Is your mother on antidepressant medication? Also you might want to have her hormone levels checked, if she is going through menopause she may need extra hormones.... She is probably very depressed with all that is gong on in your family and with her relationship with her husband, and her brother being in the hospital (that is why I asked about the antidepressants) I have worked with the elderly and older patients for years as a home health aide and nursing assistant. Sometimes when they see what used to be a healthy relative dying (especailly if that relative is older) they can feel like they are going to die soon, even if that is not the case! I know that your mom is praobably stubborn but how about some counseling at your church??? I will pray for you! God Bless, Jessica
