while it is sad that it took so long for her to finally be able to rest with our Lord, I'm torn on the pubilcity issue. on one hand i didn't like the publicity but on the other, it made people aware of what can (and will) happen if people continue to not discuss the reality that - we are all going to die! hopefully people have put in writing and discussed their wishes for their last days.

Good to finally get the autopsy reports out in the open, find out that no, she was never abused like the family alleged, and no, she never had a chance of coming back. The right call was made after all, the real tragedy is that a) it took so long, and b) that it was made so public. --TDv2.0 1:4:9 And that for some the autopsy makes no difference.

As far as the publicity goes, I agree, it's a good thing that people are now talking about the issue (I've got it written out that I don't want to be kept going as a baked potato, and that when I die, the bones of my hands are to be donated to a former professor of mine), just a shame that it something like this to get it done. At least she was oblivious to the spectacle, even if we couldn't be.

I just wishthey would all let the poor girl finally rest in peace. now the parents don't like the tombstone - even though michael buried her in florida for their sake. i know there are strong emotions tied to the case - she IS dead, let her rest & quit the selfish bickering and fighting.

Your poll is one of great bias, what about those of us who feel the government overstepped its bounds when making laws that concerned only this particular case? This poor woman is never going to live a quality life and I have my doubts she is really living any sort of life right now. Her cerebral cortex has deteriorated and been replaced with spinal fluid. It's hard for those who love her to accept, but she pretty much died a long time ago. Doctor after doctor has said she will never recover and that she has no higher mental functions. The very essence of what makes us human, the ability to rationalize and reason is gone. I agree with you.... at first, I went back and forth.... Ultimately, I decided that I was happy that she was going to finally be a peace. I don't care for how it was done though, but I guess those were the legalities. ? Interestingly, the autopsy states that she was blind and it did conclude her brain function was just not there....that should put a lot of issues at rest in my opinion.

The fact that W. got involved on this one showed me that the government is overdue for a couple of good slaps. The news of this whole affair should never have even left the hospital room. The one positive thing that I can say for the publicity is that people will get their living wills in order.
