I personally have not accepted any of the tax rebates that have come as a result of the the Bush Administration nor do I deduct charitable donations from my taxes. I can afford to pay my share, I should pay more than someone who isn't as fortunate. Simple as that. I can pay a much higher percentage in taxes and still be fine so why shouldn't I if it helps those less fortunate? You'd help the "less forunate" more if you took the rebates and the tax reductions yourself and gave the money directly to the "less forunate" instead through wasteful government programs.
Even if you spent it on yourself, you'd be helping the working cpkmtyoll some.
As it is, the "beauracracy" gets your money, grows on it, and the "less forunate" see a small percentage of it.

Personally i use every deduction that is out there -- however i started during the Clinton years - didn't have a house before so wasn't really able to itemize. could you tell me exactly which cuts were a result of Bush and his admin only? i've not really noticed any "new" ones since i started itemizing and would enjoy knowing more (thanks). have you ever thought of doing what many of my family and friends do -- work up the taxes with and then without the charitable donations. Once you establish both find out the difference and then donate that portion of the taxes. You've paid the taxes, the charities have already logged and listed you on their taxes, why not let them reap the benefits twice over? anyway, just a thought.

TBThis makes too much sense, but to a liberal, it's just foolish dribble. Liberals believe a large centralized government is the answer to everything. [/color]

I sign a paper every three months and give the accountant a few simple instructions. She does the rest.
