One other thing: the sprinkling of babies. I believe that the decision to follow Christ is a conscious decision made at a mature age. This is not supported in the Bible In the discussion forum there is a thread about baptism. I have a post that discusses whether baptism is based in the Law or in the Gospel. If your belief places it under the Law (as your comment leads me to believe you do) then you would be concerned about the amount of water used. Lutherans believe and teach that baptism is a means of grace. It is a way in which God touches us and thereby sanctifies us and justifies us. Because it is God doing the work of salvation through baptism we believe His power cannot be governed by the amount of water used.
