It's sad to see so few people posting here. If anyone has any ideas on how to get the boards going again, I would love to hear them
Maybe start with a clean slate...delete all the old posts?God bless, Cohdra

I enjoyed this board very much until ...
(1) Individuals turned any discussion of any topic around to a discussion of their pet topic. We could be discussing the miracle at the wedding at Cana, the same individual always managed to make it into a discussion of evolution. Another always turned every discussion into a debate on Sabbath keeping. It became impossible to have rationale discussions or debates on anything.
(2) Moderators complaining about us arguing with each other on the debate board. I was under the impression that civil, logical arguments were what the debate board was for.
(3) Moderators complaining we didn't visit all the areas of the website.
Get rid of those three problems, and I see this board coming back to life.

Threads get hi-jacked constantly. I stopped posting because I grew tired of trying to have a decent debate with posters that wouldn't engage in a normal discussion. They repeat the same litany over and over again, never really answering your points or questions. It would be interesting to start fresh. Maybe change the board name, delete all the old posts. Incidentally, it's a mod job to make sure threads stay on topic. God bless

I was wondering if everyone left cause I started posting. I've lurked for a while and I admit I thought that everyone liked talking about evolution. But I can see that would get boring after a while. I've been known to hijack a thread at times but when I realize I've done that I try to back off. Compguy

Unless I'm not remembering the TOS correctly, it is not the mods job to keep a topic on topic... that is the posters' job. The mods job is to try to keep the peace and enforce the rules.

In agreement. As with any topic, sometimes a topic reverts back to "such and such" - so like babysis said, it's the posters job to get "back on topic". BTW, hello friends ;D <><

I am afraid the board has lived it's life. There is no real way to attract new members. The old LBMB was advertised well and always had a flow of new posters. Everyone that migrated here has moved on for some reason or another. I fear the board is knocking on deaths door.

I started going down the membership list emailing folks......got some done, but have been too busy to go back and do more...perhaps if more us emailed our members, more would be inclined to come back.

Ronda Greetings, Aunt Ronda and fellow members! I believe that things will steadily improve on these boards - not least because I'm back. ;D Yes, one of your prodigal brothers in Christ is back. New, improved, and ready to go! Andy.

DD, you have a very interesting observation, one I hadn't considered, but which shows a wry insight. Thanks for offering it up!

"This should be interesting" - I get the feeling that you are going to test the new, improved, Andy. Still, I guess I am asking for it. Andy.

The opposite of what I've been. I did go on a bit about certain things in the past, and there were times when I was a bit unfriendly. I'm still on a learning curve. I've been a Christian since 1986, and I'm still learning. I wonder whether we'll ever stop learning.
