But if what I believe is wrong, it might cause me to be lost, just as you might be lost depending on false hopes. That's the point. It does matter what one believes. To say " I have faith in Jesus" is nice, but what if it's a false faith? I mean what if you or I havwe faith in a false idea? Believing is a two part word. It means to accept something mentally, and then to act on that mental acceptance. What if you're acting on error?
I don't believe it is false but like I have said If I'm wrong that don't change anything I'm still going to be with the lord one day..just because I believe there is a rapture doesn't meen I won't go to heaven my faith won't change if there isn't a rapture .because I would go through anything for him so if I'm wrong in what I believe I guess I will be going through the tribulation..so just say for a second that I'm right and you are wrong are you going to be disappointed if there is a rapture???will it change how you feel???....I have faith in the lord and faith is strong so I would never be lost either way I can't wait untill he retures to get us all because I'm so ready for it,I can't wait to kneel in front of him a just kiss his feet and tell him how much I love him that is going to be the greatest day ever.

What if your errors allow you to believe that you can live as you wish now, but you'll change AFTETR the rapture? Maybe you don't believe that, but don't tell me there are those who don't believe that lie. What if you beleve as some on these boards write, that God's law was only for the israelites? Woukld that allow you to consider many sisn as not applying to you? What about God's ten commandments? I've seen people say that are defunct, were nailed to the cross, were only for the Israelites, etc.
It does matter what one believes. Your salvation depends on what you believe AND act on. Jesus paid the price for sin, but He also DIDN'T die to save you IN your sins, but FROM your sins. Man is expected to turn from sin, not contiune in it and through the power Jesus supplies, man can live sin free. It is when man convinces himself that he can't stop sinning that sin becomes acceptable to him and he just says "oh well, Jesus will save me because I just can't stop sinning". This is the excuse of a lost soul. It does make a difference what one believes.

OK, I just scanned through this and I might have gotten the wrong impression here...but....Gene..it sounds like if one doesn't believe exactly the way that you translate everything ..."that the rest of us "just don't get it". Not trying to cause a ruckus here, but you sound pretty darn harsh to Beth. I also believe that your political stance is of no interest at all and doesn't particularly belong on a Christian Board. I'm sure that there are other boards where you could debate your opinion...sorry if I also sound harsh to you. I am having a bad day and really don't have time nor the inclination to see/hear someone beat their opinions on someone. YSIC....Edwina

Not going to try anything "new" here, just not bright enough, I guess, to be clever...LOL Beth: Howdy Ya'll...that's Southern, I think Yes I am in Tenn. Knoxville. Retired and came here Dec. '93. Just love it here. Took me the first year to figure out what everyone was saying tho'... ;D Being from Calif. had to get my head attuned to the accents. I, personally, only like to debate an opinion if the other person is able to listen and form their opinion and/or discuss it. It just lights my fire when someone trys to jam something down my throat and pretty much tell me that I am going to , if I don't believe the way that they do. That's my story and I'm sticking to it . My e-mail is: Ctryladi@aol.com if you ever have the inclination to chat... ;D Rhonda: Hi gal: You are also in my prayers that you get the job that you want. Haven't gone back and read what you are looking for, but will be thinking about you. You have always been an inspiration to many on these boards. I know I don't get on here enough and hopefully things will calm down here very soon. Almost lost my husband in November, and I swear that I don't remember, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, or Mar. It is just a blur. Now I have carpal tunnel in both hands and it is beginning to be more than a minor inconvenience. It is mainly at night that it gives me fits. Have to get up several times and ice my hands down. The right, of course, is worse than the left, but have been trying to do as much as I can with my left hand, just to practice, in case I have the right hand fixed. Sure is a hoot when you are right handed. ;D You and Beth take care and God Bless...YSIC..Edwina

So, if the thread isn't what you think it should be, then it should be somewhere else, right? It's too bad you don't make those decisions. One more thing. You SPEAK ONLY FOR YOURSELF, not "the rest of us" as you wrote. I'm sure that there are other boards where you could debate your opinion...sorry if I also sound harsh to you. I am having a bad day and really don't have time nor the inclination to see/hear someone beat their opinions on someone. YSIC....Edwina If you find anything in my post that is untrue, then you may take issue with that, but just because you may disagree with what I wrote doesn't maen that I'm "harsh" as you said. The truth is not harsh, just hard to swallow sometimes after a long period of being deceived. No one likes to believe they've been tricked, but some of us can and have overcome that kind of vanity and have changed to the truth. What I believe about the rapture is true. I don't follow fairy tales such as Tim Lehaywe puts out for a profit. If you wish to beliebve those, that's O.K. by me, because I've given straight truth on this subject. It's on you if you choose to discard it.

As I said, it does make a difference to some because many live their lives as if they expect a second chance, which is what the commonly taught rapture doctrine is about. Wrapping up the rapture doctrine in a few words,...... if you miss the return of Jesus for the church, you'll have 7 years to "get right" for the next return so you can get to heaven.
This is as unbiblical as it gets, but is believed by millions. Many think that because of large numbers that believe this foolishness, they must be right.
That's where my gripe is.

Why don't you show me the errors in my beliefs instead of complaining about my posts? Is it because you can't or don't know how or don't know what is biblical truth?

Gene.
And, perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying....! I feel that a good debate or discussion is certainly worthwhile and we can all learn from each other. But, the impression you leave is that if one doesn't believe EXACTLY the way that you do, then they are wrong. Remember, that there are a lot of false prophets out there and many interrupretations. I did not state that you were "wrong", you just come across like you are beating people over the head about just how right you are.
Most believe they are right: Catholic's, Mormon's, Jehovah's Witness's, and so on. I find some credibility, to a point, in most people's belief's. Do I believe that "one" of them are absolutely, no doubt about it, right? NO, I'm afraid that I don't, and that is my choice. We all have choices. I hope that the choices I make are good one's. I believe, to better believe in what Christ has taught and to believe with all my heart, than to take one organized religion's "interrupretation" and state that there is no other way except what they teach. I won't be a hypocrite and only take out of it what I believe and leave the rest alone.
Reading your post's; I'm sorry to say, sounds like a used car salesman screaming at you that they are the only one's that can sell you the best car.
I pray that we can come to some kind of terms here, as I do not send any post in anger. But, I am a person and indivdual, God created, and I nor anyone else should be subjected to a "soapbox" dialog. No one likes for someone to tell them that they are totally wrong, and they are the only one's that are right. Even you don't like it.
As a Post Script, I do not believe that the Left Behind Series is the Gospel. Interesting reading is all. I get the strange feeling that you believe that some who read it seem to think so. Take Care and God Bless.....YSIC..Edwina
