BillBo1970 Well, let's just hope that he is complaining only on the LBMB and not here. There is less than 24 hours left over there anyway. My contention is to just ignore anyone that does not have a real complainet!..Peace...YSIC...EdwinaTEXT

Have you thought of going to another board site that doesn't allow popups? There are some out there that are cheap (like 10 bucks for the life of the board. All they have is a banner. Nothing else. I think that might be a worthy investment.

I will not consider any other board. I really like this one. Maybe this was God's will that we all ended up here. In many ways, it's much nicer than the old boards. I'm staying no matter what, pop-ups or no pop-ups. God bless us all. ;D

I don't have a Pop-Up Blocker to my knowledge. I never get them? I have Windows XP, could that have something to do with it ???As you can tell, I'm no computer whiz here :PWas just curious about it. Being, 202 (that is what my profile says) ;Dno wonder I can't figure anything out! Hey, I'm in good shape for the shape I am in. ;D..YSIC...Edwina

Vicvanmama, some posters would rather not mention if they're donating. The next thing you know, someone will have a silly squabble and say they belong here and the other doesn't because they donate. It should be anonymous. If we donate, it should be because we choose to, not because we're made to feel inadequate if we don't.

Here is a page that tells how many donations we've had so far. It is not realtime so I will update it whenever I see that more donations have been added. Thanks to all who have donated so far. Remember, less that 1 day left of the old message board, go and tell everyone you can about this board so no one gets left behind. www.geocities.com/newmessageboard/donations.htmlSincerely, [glow=green,3,300]Snotty ;D[/glow]

Ok, point taken, maybe I was being too excited and naive to think it all through from all sides. I am not always good, or rather I should say I am not good at all with words, but I wanted to create a secure feeling for our members, future members, I think it will all work out. So I am not going to stress over anything and when I can I will help out. And I am trusting God to provide when I am not able.

Hey Snot, that's it? Not very much, kinda disappointing. You'd think more than 4 people on this board could afford $6.99.

Paypal must keep information for longer than the credit union! anyways I tried to make a donation, had to go get a pkmtyolpword because I am already registered from about 2 years back, came back fixed all that, than tried to make a donation, I wante dto use my cc, but in the end it kept bringing up my checking account number, which I did not want to use. So as soon as i figure out how to pay with my cc, i will donate. comments welcome

Maybe if it wasn't a set amount, but you just had a paypal donation link... people could donate $1, $100, or anything in-between. It might work out better. ANYONE can afford $1, you might be surprised. Maybe you'd have a little extra for yourself as a nice thanks for doing all the work creating the boards & stuff. Or else, you could have the paypal automatically stop the donations when you have enough for the month?
What do you think?

PIC, Bill [/color][/quote] The problem with this is that money would be going to me. Then people could point there fingers and say I'm doing this to make money and before you know people start calling me tyndale jr. I really don't think it's a good idea for people to send money to me. Plus I don't know how I'd deal with that money on my income tax forms (God forbid I use something other than the EZ form ;D). We'll just have to see what happens. We have almost 400 members and 4 members have donated so far. July starts tomorrow. I think I might put down the cash for the rest of the credits so that July can be ad-free. Then we'll see how much people like that and who knows, maybe they'll want to donate then. I wonder if that money could be counted as a tithe? Sincerely, [glow=green,3,300]Snotty ;D[/glow]

Give access to the paypal account to the moderators that are elected. Then they can monitor the amount in it, and report if is being taken out. Paypal will show where it is going and stuff like that. Then it would be open and honest with everyone, and everyone would know that the money is going to keeping this site add free. I think the paypal account is a very good idea. You could also then put out a monthly report of income, to let everyone know how everything is going, and pkmtyolp it along to the moderators to post in each forum. What do you think?

So many people having access to an account with money invites corruption. But I'll think about it. Sincerely, [glow=green,3,300]Snotty ;D[/glow]

But what about the 'decide your own amount to donate' part of my idea?
