This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim pkmtyolpages...
The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible) Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
( Note the verse number!!!!!)
I got this in a email today and thought some of you might find it interesting.

Considering the whole 09/11 thing, I would think it would allude more to Osama than Sadaam, considering the fact that Osama is from Arabia. My question is why would a quran prophecy be viewed as legitimate prophecy by christians, not to mention the fact that it does seem very accurate? Very strange indeed.

You might want to check your facts before you believe everything you read in email.
Koran 9:11:
But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.
The word "eagle" does not even occur in the Koran, nor does the word "Arabia". This sounds like another of those "Nostradamus predicted 9/11" urban legends.

stevec Wow, sorry about that. I don't keep a quran around so I guess I just assumed it was right my mistake, my apologizes. I have a copy as software but it is also available online. A simple search will reveal a multitude of websites containing the Koran. Make sure you click on "English", the Arabic fonts are a pain. As for the email, always check the veracity on something like this. Even on this board someone recently posted a list common phrases and the historical "facts" surrounding them (e.g. where we get the term "threshold" from); many of these "facts" were incorrect. It is always wise to double check before you post.

Thanks Steve, I was glad it was disproved. I would hate to think the koran could be right about something. I only posted it to get a christian perspective I hope no one thought I was agreeing with it.

Very sad thing to think about how this misrepresentation is being sent everywhere. This verse does not say that in the Quran! It seems to me, that we are putting a big stumbling block in front of the Muslims by lying about their "Holy" book. Where is the righteousness in that. Christians need to be more diligent about checking the facts.

It would be great if everyone would check out what they read or hear and then post.... Just like this election year - react first and then backtrack - good grief <><
