To All Members, In case you haven't noticed, there is a link at the top of this forum that says "Open Chat Prototype". Clicking on this link will open our new chat room prototype. Give it a try. Just enter in your user name and click connect. Let me know how you like it. Feel free to ask questions or give comments. If this chat room goes over well, I'll add it to the rest of the site. Sincerely, [glow=green,3,300]Snotty ;D[/glow] Honestly, nothing happened. That's not to say that I don't like the idea...because I do. Of course, since this is a prototype, it's still a working progress, no? ;D FMOG

are you using IE? Gee, I can get in just fine.. Hmm...
Click tools-> settings & go to the advanced tab.
Scroll down to Microsoft VM section. Make sure Java Console is enabled, and check JIT Compiler too while you're there.
Then go to the security tab & click the custom button. Scroll down to Microsoft VM section, and set Java Permissions to Low security.
You'll need to reboot for the stuff on the advanced tab, if you had to change it. Security will take effect if you close your browsers & open a new one.

I GOT IT!
To make a long story short, I am using Internet Explorer version 6. I strongly suspect that everyone else who has never been able to open Chat are too.
The problem here is this: Microsoft was sued by the creators of Java (Sun Microsystems) and was forced to stop distributing Java last year. So ALL newer versions of Internet Explorer don't HAVE Microsoft VM.
Microsoft no longer hosts the VM, but it IS around on the net. I finally located it, installed it, and GOT IN!
If anyone else can't get Chat to work, feel free to IM me or e-mail me at layer3maniac@hotmail.com and I'll help you get it going.
