When I was little my mom fed me squash baby food, and I didn't like it. Now, I still don't like squash.

I don't like squash either, and I'm glad I didn't have to eat squash baby food... or prune... or broccoli...

When I was little my mom fed me squash baby food, and I didn't like it. Now, I still don't like squash. Pretty similar case here... I never really liked any meat baby foods, and I still don't care for it much. Poultry and fish rock my socks, but other than hamburger I've really gotta be in the mood for any red meat. It's weird how tastes are developed that young... you wouldn't think that a kid who hardly knows what his feet are would be all that picky as to what filled his stomach.

Unfortunately, I think they were being serious. Just spelling? JUST SPELLING? Excuse me, but without spelling, no-one would be able to communicate. Good spelling is a necessity to communicate effectively. The worse your spelling is, the less effectively you will communicate, and also the likelihood of people overlooking what you have said increases, because they'll give up due to the spelling errors. That's also why Internet abbreviations should be avoided.
Please, people, make an effort to spell well. It's a sign of respect towards the reader, allows you to communicate more effectively, and is just a generally good thing to do.

There was nothing difficult to read or understand about her post. You're nitpicking, and it's not accomplishing anything other than irritating people.

Good Zooropa, don't you understand that spelling is IMPORTANT and ESSENTIAL to GOOD communication? If you can't spell well, it makes communication more difficult and your point gets across in a less effective manner. The better your spelling, the easier you can communicate, and the more respect you show for your reader. It's as simple as that.

Oh yes, we shouldn't spell. Good writing skills are not at ALL necessary in life.

I don't know how to spell. And I got second place in the spelling bee last year. I did take English though, so I know how to use apostrephys. I think that we should try to use corect spelling, but if someone dosen't spell right don't have a cow. Because I know that I don't allways spell right.

Haha, Athanasius, I liked the link.
Monkey - 'I don't know how to spell'
Well then what did you do during spelling lessons at school?
'I did take English though, so I know how to use apostrephys.'
Well that's good. By the way, it's 'apostrophes'. 'Apostrephys' sounds more like some Greek guy ...
'I think that we should try to use corect spelling, but if someone dosen't spell right don't have a cow'
I'm glad you think we should use correct spelling, seeing it's so important. Maybe I was overly pedantic earlier, and there were plenty of better examples I could've used, but that day I was sick of seeing "I'm" written as "Im". It was seriously getting on my nerves.
And if someone's spelling is atrocious and in desperate need of fixing, I'll tell them. I'm not backing down from that.

Well what did you do during spelling lessons at school? Ok, I know how to spell, just not corectly all the time. I'm a very good student and during spelling I paid antention, most of the time. I agree with sam107.
