Hello Brothers and sisters, Once again, I must thank you all for your prayers....and most of all, I thank our Lord!
Tonight, I walked in to my sister's room and when I spoke her name she opened her eyes! I almost fell out in the floor. I did not know that they had taken her off the paralytic meds and brought her out of the coma today.... She also squeezed my hand. She is still very sedated and will be for a few days, but tomorrow they are going to try to remove the ventilator. She is off the blood pressure meds and alot of the other stuff, she only has one chest tube now and they took the tube from her stomach. You must understand that 3 days ago they told us she would not live. 2 days ago they told us she would be in the induced coma for a couple of weeks and in the critical care unit for weeks...IF she lived! In the past 48 hours she has made progress that they told us would take weeks! That is prayer! I am so in awe of what prayer has done here...I cannot thank you all enough.
Lord Bless and keep you always! Pam
Praise the Lord. He is awesome! Give your sister our love.

Hello, just wanted to give you all another update on Donna... she is still heavily sedated although no longer in the coma. Out of nine IV bags, she is down to 3. The last chest tube is out. She is completely off the blood pressure meds and her pressure is holding it's own. She is still running a low grade fever, but the docs aren't concerned with it. They have lowered the level of sedation and because of this her hands are secured to keep her from pulling at the ventilator. They had told us that they were going to start weaning her off the ventilator today but now say that it may be a few days before they do this completely. She will be in intense pain when they do eventually wake her up completely. Besides the broken ribs she already had (18 in the back side), they broke 12 of them on the front side to do the emergency surgery. If I were her I don't know if I would want to be awake to experience the pain she will have
Thank you all for your love and prayers and I will keep you updated through either Melinda or Vada over the weekend.
I cannot wait til Donna is awake and out of pain and back to her old self again. I am gonna print out all of the prayers she has gotten and save them for her.
God Bless you all, Pam -------------------- Numbers 6 24"The LORD bless you and keep you; 25The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace."

Brothers and Sisters, I just want to shout I am sooo happy ;D! My Sister, Donna is doing so well! She is still in critical care, but she is awake and alert and writing us notes!(chicken scratch really ) Her brain is in tact! She knows everyone and is very coherant. She does still have the ventilator right now but I am sure that is only for a couple more days. She loves to see us come for visits and gets upset when we have to leave, that is the only downside to her being awake...it is so hard to leave her . I am hoping that soon she will go to special care, the visits there are an hour instead of 15 mins. thank you so much for your prayers and please keep'em comin...they work! God Bless you all, Pam --------------------
