Cheri, Hey! I'm praying for you! Good advise from Layer... I can call my Mom in the morning and ask her if there is anything eles you can do at home... she is a nurse. Oh and there is a few nurses on here I think CatholicChristan is a bio-chemist but I've seen her give advise and I'm 90% sure Fire4Christ is a nurse... there is another too, let me think about it and I'll get back to you! Maybe you could PM them and ask! But if worst comes to worst PLEASE get to a doctor! Alot of offices will let you make payments if you explain your situation... they can be pretty understanding! Also every hospital has a hotline with nurses on call to answer questions. Most of the time they tell you to come in, for liability reasons, but they will give you some tips and tell you to try them for like 24 hrs and if it's not better to come in. Try that too. Keep and eye on it! Especially watch the color, any "unusual" colors (you'll know them when you see them) head to a doctor! Lord I come to you know to ask for healing for Cheri. We are gathered in your name at times like this to plead for the well being of our brothers and sisters. I ask that you take this infection from our sister Cheri. Please heal her ankle and take the pain from her body. I know that through you all things are possible. In the name of Jesus, Amen Sorry I'm really bad about writing "proper" prayers! I pray as if chatting with a friend....But he knows it's from the heart! I'll be praying... and I'll let you know what my Mom says! darcy Lovely prayer Darcy. Thank you so much for taking the time to pray for me. There is nothing wrong with how you prayed. He is our friend as well as our Lord. I pray the same way. ;D Thank you for checking with your mom on this. Itching on a sore that's scabbed over is a good sign right? It got to itching early this morning and I naturally started scracthing it. I was half asleep when I started scratching and it hurt enough that I woke up thinking what am I doing. I almost made it bleed by scracthing on it. I do think it's getting better but it just seems like it's taking a long time. I'm thankful it's not throbbing like it was over the weekend. I couldn't even get the sore out of my mind because of the throbbing pain. The throbbing was just on the sore itself not my whole foot. Please let me know what your mother says. Let her know it's scabbed over now. If I don't see a major improvement by Friday I will go in to have it looked at.

Let her know it's scabbed over now. If I don't see a major improvement by Friday I will go in to have it looked at. Hey Cheri, Okay I talked to my Mom and she said to feel better and she would pray for you, and that she would feel better about it if you would see a doctor because there are hundreds and hundreds of types of infections and you really never know... She wants to know a few things: When did you first notice the infection and how did it manifest itself? (blotchy, pain, bruise, small, big...) Has is affected your "walk", or is there pain when you put weight on it? This is important because it can be in your deep tissue or travle through your bloodstream to other areas.... NOT trying to scare you just giving you info! Have you noticed any other health issues besides your ankle, such as feeling tired or what not? If it has scabbed over this means your body has thrown out some type of toxin, good sign. The scab closes the wound to prevent other infections from coming in and has healing agents to help "mend" the area. I'm talking to her right now and she wants me to qoute her 'leave the scab alone, don't pick it, don't scratch it and if you do touch it for some reason, wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap or splash alcohol on them young lady!' She's laughing, keep in mind, I grew up with this... It might be a good idea to secure some type of loose fitting bandage over it when you sleep so it won't snag on the blankets and you won't scratch it. Very loose, so it can get air. Goss works well, it breaths and you could use medical tape to tab the corners. She said the bedadine is a good idea. Also warm compresses. The warmth promotes blood flow and helps your body expell the infection. It might need to get rid of more toxins so it might "leak" then scab over again. For pain you can use cold compresses. This doesn't have any medical benefit but it will help with swelling. It would be best to follow up with the warm compresses after. Try a ziploc bag of ice, or even soaking your foot in a bath of cool water. Then wait till your ankle is a normal temp and apply warm--- a heating pad on low, an old fashion water bottle, even a warm wash cloth or warm bath water. You can take asprin for pain. This will help thin your blood, promote good blood flow and help throw out any toxins like the warmth does. Read the bottle and don't excede the adult dose, bad for your tummy, Asprins can make you feel sickly so eat a bit then drink half a soda, coke works best (it's an "old day" trick my parents used on us, works great! An asprin with half a coke right afterward and you'll feel right as rain in no time!) I'll finish in a sec.... I have to feed my dog his after breakfast treat (spoiled!) he is crying like a baby! darcy

Thank you very much Darcy. God bless you and yours too hon. (((HUGS)))) Hey Cheri, No problem at all! Happy to help. My Mom is at work till six and we're west coast so I'll have to post after that. Everything sounds good to me... but I'm not the nurse I was thinking the reason it was itching so much is A) it's healing and that is great.... B) the salts and peroxide are drying it out extra... All and all it sounds like it's run it's course. I would so no on the gauze at night (but will double check with my Mom) since it seems to be done throwing out the infection.... Also great idea with the bucket in the shower! I think friday is a good goal since it's improving not getting worse! Keep me posted! Take care and baby that foot. May God bless you and yours (((((((HUGS))))))) to you as well sweetie! Prayers heading your way.... darcy p.s. yes, my dog is now bloated and pkmtyolsy, sleeping on the kitchen run...of course...waiting for dinner! Can't help but love the little brats!

You know, you're right. It might be the Peroxide making it itch. I was just trying to keep it clean from the shower. My husband looked at it tonight and said it didn't look good as far as being pretty to look at but it was looking better. So I'm happy about that. ;D My cat loves me to death. He only tolerates the hard food because he knows he doesn't get the wet food until night time but that doesn't stop him from following me all over the apartment. He woke me up the other day. LOL I can't even type this without laughing. LOL I was sound asleep and he jumped on the bed and came over to the side I was laying on and tug one nail into my arm to wake me up. LOL He was completely out of food in his dish. The king must be fed don't you know. LOL Thanks again Darcy and I'll let you know about my foot. Well off to the store. God bless. (((HUGS)))

I seriously reccomend that you buy a bottle of Betadine. It's about 6 dollars at Wal-Mart. Fill a small, clean bucket with warm water, squirt a couple of teaxyhgts of the Betadine into it, and soak that foot and ankle in it. As I said, infections are nothing to mess around with. A friend of mine stepped on a nail once, a common construction injury, and it got infected a couple of days later. They ended up amputating his leg just under the knee. I just have to respond to this one... I know you were just trying to convey the seriousness of infection but that is kinda discouraging... you know? Anyway to Cheri, There is a natural supplement called collodial silver that is a natural and effective antibiotic. If you have a health store nearby you can purchase a small bottle and it will work faster than penicillen (sp?). I have used it for various infections within my family and it is superb and no side effects. (penicillen kills off good bacteria and leads to a high amount of yeast in the body causing yeast infections, bowel complications and urinary tract infections) It is worth the purchase. If you can't afford it let me know... I will try to help you out with getting some. Here is a website that tells more technical info.... www.healthstar.com/Pages/MicronicSilver.htmlAlso you can apply it topically to help clean out the sore. Here is a forum that is discussing claims that you can make it yourself... www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3b2f06087424.htmAs an antibiotic, Silver kills over 650 disease causing organisms; resistant strains fail to develop. Silver is absolutely nontoxic. Silver is the best all-around germ fighter we have. Doctors are reporting that, taken internally, it works against syphilis, cholera, and malaria, diabetes and severe burns. -- Bio/Tech News, 1995 (note: that silver is added to burn cremes in all hospitals today for that very reason) There is a problem with it's long term use however, because the body tends to store the silver and silver deposits in your skin can change the color in some places. I recommend using the Collodial silver until your symptoms abate and then letting the wound heal normally. I would not suggest using collodial silver as a dietary supplement for a long period of time as you wouldn't do that with any other anti-biotic. Hope that helps...

Wow lots of good information here GuidemeLord. Thank you for taking the time to give me this information. I'm going to have a look at those links you gave me. I gather from what you said it's costly. It does sound like something worth looking into and getting if one can afford to. In the long run it's cheaper then a doctors appointent and prescriptions. ;D I wrote it down so I can look for it the next time I'm out. I know there's a health "store" within the Piggly Wiggly out here. I'll check and see if they have it. Come to think of it I do have a book on natural herbs etc. Hmmm have to pull that out more often... Thank again and God bless you.

I went up today at church for prayer on it but would like to have more prayer behind it. Can't hurt. TIA You are so right about prayer - more can ner hurt. I come right now Father and I ask that you touch Cheri with your healing power and give her relief from this pain. i pray in the precious name of Jesus. amen
