Did I say that was possible? No. Then what did you mean by this? Isn't it about time that you removed your rose-tinted spectacles before you end up being left behind? Or this? These comments indicate an 'unwittingness' in believers who will then inadvertently be "left behind." How else should I have read them? I think what it all boils down to is: what is it that you think provides your salvation? You believe your salvation is in some way contingent on your behavior, your "preparedness" (whatever that means) or on your worthiness. To say this is in direct conflict with what we are promised in the Bible about our salvation. GAL 1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! You mentioned the bride and bridegroom in another post. Just exactly how do you think the Bride becomes clean? The Bride isn't cleansed by her own actions, she is cleansed in the Blood of Jesus. 1CO 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you see? LJ

Earthquakes, tsunami, hurricanes, famine, war, poverty, disease - I'm beginning to believe that these are all examples of God's wrath and judgement being manifested against our sinful, disobedient, kind. Will we heed the warnings or choose death? It's a choice we all have to make.

It amazes me how some people prefer to bury their heads in the sand over the things that are going on in this World, like they're afraid of something.......judgement perhaps. Oh, please. What is there to be afraid of? What difference does it make if Christ returns tomorrow or in 1000 years? As for me: PS 70:5 Yet I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
But if He doesn't, all that means is I have more time to try and reach the lost with the Word of God and with it His saving grace. Like I said in an earlier post, my hope is that our sense of urgency is increased, but our sense of fear and foreboding? No way. LJ

Do you see? LJ Most of this post from you is your own understanding of what I have said. I suggest that you read Romans chapter 11. It's a warning to us all. Christian.

Most of this post from you is your own understanding of what I have said.[/quote] Then help me understand more properly your thoughts. (uh, it's why I've been asking you questions...)
It is? To all of us? Because from where I'm sitting, it sure looks like a warning to the Jews who rejected Christ, and a comfort to the Gentile Christians who were being told (erroneously) that, since they weren't Jews they couldn't be part of God's elect.
Are you sure you meant Romans 11?

What on Earth does this mean?? What choice are you talking about?? LJ To fear God, or not to fear God. The wise fear God, and don't take their salvation for granted. They watch their attitude towards others, they despise the lies that contradict God's Truth which is to be found in the Holy Scriptures. They don't deliberately set out to use God's Word selectively to suit their own agendas. They don't blaspheme God, or falsely claim to be Him. They know their place and there is security to be found under His Lordship. They don't fear death. They have no reason to. All this World has to offer is death, including the kind that comes with being separated from God. Blessings, Christian. ;D

In fact, it is illustrative of my comment regarding a sense of urgency. You can understand my confusion, I'm sure, since your comments heretofore had been directed to fellow Christians. Thank you for the clarification! LJ

kingsdaughter - "As for increases in disasters This is the info I was able to find. From 1638 to 1928 (310 years) 2500 earthquakes were reported. From 1928 to 1980 ( 68 yrs.) there were 18,500 earthquakes reported. This is found on the National Geophysical data center site.
For Floods, avalanches, and tidal waves I found this.
From 1228 to 1928 ( 700 yrs) There were a total of 6 reported. From 1928 to 2004 (76 yrs.) there were 38 reported. These were all major events with loss of life not your local river flooding. this is found on Infoplease. The birth pains have started they started slow and far apart and they are speeding up and are closer together. Let Him who has ears hear."
Of course, the most logical explanation for these numbers is not an increase in actual frequency of their occurrences, but an increase in their being reported. Sky - still not falling.

Sin is Sin, not matter how you look at it. The moral state of the world has been the same for thousands of years. We just have different kings then the world did 2000 years ago. Interestingly enough, openly gay relationships were much more in biblical times than today. Natural disasters really havn't gotten that much worse. You're gonna have to show me how the world today matches up against biblical prophecy.
You tend to lean on "God gave me a revelation" anytime you have no evidence, biblical or otherwise. The truth is that you don't have any idea what the Mark will be. None of us do. It may be a bio-chip, but that is because it seems like the most obvious in today's world. However in 1000 years in the future, biochips may be obselete and the Mark may be something completely different.
The Mark, which the bible says is given by the so-called false prophet, can't be administered before the false prophet and the beast exist. It is a logical imposibility.

Me: Of course, you cannot prove that there is not an increase in actual frequency either. The Return of Christ: Coming soon to an earth near you!

Of course, you cannot prove that there is not an increase in actual frequency either. Yes, and neither can you. As explained before, the actual means of measuring these events, as well as the communications infrastructure to report them simply did not exist during those time periods. Therefore, making a claim that "these events are increasing in frequency" is based upon bad assumptions at best.

Me: Indeed, but the possibility, if not even probability, that there has been an increase still exists.
