Will someone tell me how to disable it. i don't know anything about it. this computer was a gift. Thanks Dee It depends on what kind you have, I believe. Mine says at the bottom either: Blocking popups, Allowing popups, pr something like that. I set it to allow popups from this site only. It doesn't even block all of them on other sites...oh well, close is just a click away. Oh, to get there, I just click on it at the bottom and set the prefs.

I don't see any pop-ups at work, but from home I do get them, one every page, yes, it's annoying. m It also tried to put cookies on my computer, but my home computer won't accept ad cookies, and I clean out my work computer somewhat regularly.
Don't know why I don't get pop-ups here. Maybe the company firewall or something? But then, I have a firewall at home and do get them there. *shrug* It's a mystery.

Love your new name and pics, sweet! Thanks. I decided to go with the all rose motif for now - my name, my pic, my little quote under my pic, and my doll. ;D

Ok, I have another question for Snotty or whomever.
At work I don't get pop-up ads. Have no idea why, but they don't show up here at all. However, I do get them at home. You said that they knew I viewed the ads when it downloads.
How do they know? Please say it isn't through cookies because I have IE set up to notify me every time a site tries to place a cookie on my machine, and I turn down all ad cookies. So if I block cookies do they not know if I've seen the ad? I simply refuse to let these companies place something I my machine that I don't want, and that includes keeping a close eye on who can give me cookies.

With the pop up blocker I have, the pop up shows up, the window is then closed by the program.
Is a program like this one a problem, Snotty.
I ask because some of the pop up ads cause my IE program to crash.

The window opens & counts as an advert.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it ironic that 2 of the website sponsors are for pop-up blockers that have ads when one has logged in?

I think the funniest thing about this is one of the banner ads here that I saw today says: Ultimate PopUp Blocker - www.PopEraser.com Download a highly effective and affordable popup blocking software.
